Politics for Dummies

Description

“We hang the petty thieves and appoint the great ones to public office.” – Aesop

Our leaders are the ones that sacrifice for the greater good. Said no one ever.

Foreword

Our representatives in government are the epitome of the cream of the crop. The Republic of Korea takes pride in them...

Behind closed doors and soundproof offices lie a maze of secrets, deception, and treason. And in the middle of it all, Mira - the budding new campaign manager for Seoul's most prominent assemblyman - must learn to navigate the storm. Survival of the fittest is the key... and they'll all do whatever it takes to sit on top.

A/N: This story is primarily based off of the movie "Ides of March", and is a political drama piece. Fair warning, I know little about the South Korean election process so don't murder me for writing something inaccurate. Hope you enjoy.

                                                                                                                 Characters

Choi Mira: The brilliant campaign manager for the most influential assemblyman in Korea as he seeks reelection. What will she do to ensure her candidate's victory?

Kim Junmyeon: The foremost assemblyman in the Republic of Korea. Known to the people as morally upright and virtuous, a true family and people's man, what new revelations will go down during campaign season?

Oh Sehun: His candidates have never lost a race before. And he doesn't plan to lose now... especially when he finally has the opportunity to manage the rival to the biggest politician in modern day Korea.

Kim Jongin: With a reputation for accuracy and efficiency and the results to boot, he and Mira make a near unbeatable campaign team. Unless, of course, one of them screws up. Who could it be?

Park Chanyeol: The wealthiest businessman in Korea, with a penchant for dabbling in social affairs. His motives? Far from moral. His appetite for power? Insatiable.

Kim Minseok: The new kid on the block, but a smart one at that. It's been a while since anyone really posed a threat to Kim Junmyeon's seat on the assembly. That's about to change.
