Prologue

Krystal’s done a lot of stupid things in her life, but this has got to be the dumbest.

“I hate you, Jongin. No, we hate you.” 3:04am

“I’m fine raising him on my own. It’s actually better this way.” 3:06am

“Kyungsoo doesn’t need a father like you. He’s better off thinking that you’re dead.” 3:07am

Alcohol and a very stressed out mommy = drunk calling her ex and spilling the beans about their four year old son that had remained nonexistent to her ex until now.

“What do I do?! You don’t think he actually checks his voicemail, do you?” Krystal wants to cry. The tears are welling up in her eyes, but she refuses to let them fall. She gave up crying after the night they broke up. No, after Jongin heartlessly dumped her and left to America to start his own company that has now expanded all over Asia.

“I don’t know if he does, but by contacting his company, I’m pretty sure his secretary would have seen it by now.”

Krystal bites her lower lip. She’s tempted to call his company again and tell him it was all an April Fool’s joke.

Yup, since it’s still April but not necessarily April 1^st, she could still make jokes. Oh, Krystal, this cute but stupid prankster.

“Maybe they’ll listen to it, but think it’s a commercial ad. Then think nothing of it and delete it.”

Commercial ad: You-Are-The-Father!

“I don’t know about that, Krystal. But for your sake, let’s hope so.” Amber gets up to get the door as Krystal continues to fret on the couch. “Hi, can I help-Oh god.”

“I’m looking for Jung Krystal.”
