Doubt

How she could always stand being cancelled on and pretend that it never happened was a complete mystery to her friends and she knew it. They didn’t understand how she could handle not being dotted on and taken care of by her boyfriend, or at least that’s how she took it. No matter what she and her friends did together, it somehow always turned into a sympathy session. She would have to listen to her friends constantly tell her that she deserved better, that she was a person who should be cherished and that the very ground she walked on should be worshiped by him.  Her response was always a variation of:
“He’s busy.” Or, “It’s okay.”

            Her friends were always annoyed by how forgiving she was to him and how he seem to take her for granted, (things that they made sure that their opinions were stated) and after hearing it so much she couldn’t help but to doubt their relationship and wonder if he really cared about her. She always pushed those thoughts to the back of her mind though and never got angry at him because of his schedules, annoyed yes, but never resentful or angry. She did after all want to be as supportive as she possibly could.

            Even if her friends weren’t too fond of her boyfriend, she loved him and he felt the same…right?
