Krystal stood there with her hands frozen by her sides, the winter chill suddenly giving an ice to her bones as tears threatened to fall from her eyes.
I will not cry. I will not cry.
"I know," Kyrstal sighed, the 19-year-old bearing the weight of the words well, "As soon as she left with that guy, I knew that would be the last I'd see of Sooyung. At least now, I can stop hoping."
But as Krystal looked up at her parents, her father tight-lipped and mother weeping, she never felt more like a child than she did in that moment of helplessness.
