It Might Be You... Who Knows...Sequel Story: The King and I (Will start at Chapter 537)
Continuation.......... here we go...........
Kangin without further ado goes to Jean’s room to check on him. On the way, he meets Tonette who is also in a hurry, waving at him to run faster. So he runs as fast as he could towards her direction, then they both head to Jean’s room. Both of them stand in shock seeing him eyes closed in a yoga state. She calls Jean’s attention which the latter responses. He smiles instantly upon seeing her and Kangin. She gives him the list of the matches for the competition and leaves requesting Kangin to attend to him.
There are 10 matches they need to compete with – these are: outdoor games; archery, free-throw polo, sky diving, bungee jumping, and shooting; while for the Indoor games such as; painting, puzzle solving, fencing, board games, cooking (sort of a surprise match – both players do not know as Tonette’s mother chose the game) …
The competition starts; first playoff is free-throw polo – P. Brutus wins the game following his win is the second game which is sky diving. Tonette becomes agitated as Jean lost twice so she speaks to her mother to change the other game to give Jean a boost of confidence. Thus, the third match is archery – true as Tonette expected Jean face lights up raising his level of confidence. As expected, he wins the game following his win too is of course fencing. Consequently, both has scored two wins for the four matches – now comes the fifth which is bungee jumping. Tonette and Kangin look at each other and sigh coz they both know that he will lose.
Six match is a chess board game – Jean wins while P. Brutus wins on the shooting match. The competition is almost ending with P. Brutus gaining five wins while Jean 4 wins. The last match is cooking however before it even starts; P. Brutus objects coz he doesn’t seem to consider it as a competitive type of match but because it was chosen by the Queen his objections were put aside. Thus as a result, Jean wins the game - finishes equal with P. Brutus achievements.
Everyone is silent not knowing what to do next so Prince Brutus speaks…
P. Brutus: (smirking) As it is obvious, we finish having equal wins – I guess this is where I draw the
line. Though I admit that you (pointing to Jean) played good enough to reach to this level of
having yourself in equal footing with me – gives you great honor, Mr. Jean – that I believe
you should be proud of – for someone who is a commoner like you.
Tonette: (maintains her irritations and calmly says) And so your point Prince Brutus?
P. Brutus: (sits on a chair with his left hand on his chin, saying) I will give it away if he has a noble
stature which I don’t think he has coz according to points he is of advantage but over all
win – we are just even or shall I say neck to neck. What do you say Princess… are you
prepared?
Tonette: (mind talking she says… “gotcha” and fakes a worry and shock face – signals to Kangin to
come to her) Since you are an honorable man, Prince Brutus… (looks at her father and
and whisper) *** Dad, I need your help on this one – I will state his conditions to put it in
writing so he can’t back out, ok?***
K. Philip: (nods) Sure Tonette – have it your way…
Tonette: (looks at Jean, winks and nods) I apologize Sir Jean I guess this is where the decision has
to be made… (looks at P. Brutus) Prince Brutus since you are an honorable man, it's quite
significant that your statement should be documented (calls on Andrew) Mr. Andrew, bring
the necessary things needed and arrange them accordingly (when Andrew finishes, she
continues) So both parties I will be needing your signatures ... is this alright to the both of
you?
P. Brutus: (smirks) sure my Princess soon my queen..
Jean: yes, Princess Tonette..
Tonette: (squeals to herself “eeeekkkk”) thanks Prince Brutus (calls on the court official to write in
a contract) while we are waiting for the contract – please relax everyone (gets a piece of
paper and writes a note, asks Kangin to come over and passes the note and instructs to
give it to Jean discreetly)
Court Officer: Princess the contract is ready…
Tonette: Please give it to me… (thus the officer gives the contract to her and asks P. Brutus to
come over to sign first) Prince Brutus, please read and sign…
P. Brutus: (in full confidence signs)There you go… (calls on Jean) and I believe it is your turn and
sorry by the way… this is reality…bites hard....
Jean: (comes closer and looks at Tonette and when his face is a few inches near from her, talks
to her and says) Honey, are you sure what you are doing?
Tonette: (smiles and softly says)Trust me, sweetie…
Jean: (raise the pen and says) I concur…
When done, Tonette calls on Kangin and orders to get the wooden chest box from the latter’s room where it has been all this time hidden. The three companions of Kangin do as they are told, run toward their room and get the wooden chest box. They, including the King and Queen, are in wonder over Tonette’s course of action but decide to keep silent and observe. As the three arrives with the box, Tonette asks them to be placed infront of the King and Queen. Consequently, Tonette gets down from her throne and walks toward where the wooden box is and takes out the key attached to her necklace – Jean seeing what is happening – is taken aback along with everyone else. Then after, Tonette speaks…
Tonette: By the power bestowed on me by His Majesty King Philip and Her Majesty Queen Margret,
I shall declare myself binding with the contract. And for this may I present to you the
person I will allow myself to be married – Sir Jean or rather Earl Jean Fairmonte Guillard
Owen. Son of Duke and Duchess Owen of Winesseth, to prove his nobleness – I have all
the documents attesting his noble birthright however was stripped away of the truth by the
family known as their trustees – who are now currently living in his own huge beautiful like
palace manor enjoying the royalty life. I also have in my safekeeping his insignia – Seal of
Royal Lineage…
As a result, everyone is shocked especially Prince Brutus as well as the King and Queen but of course, except the calm Kangin and his companions. Jean is dumbfounded from what he just heard; falls on the floor – with his head down – crying. As seen by Tonette what has happened to him, runs over to pacify him. The King and Queen hide their smiles and happiness, happily contented as to the development. Thus, the King declares in finality approving Tonette’s decision which Prince Brutus accepted wholeheartedly.
Before the marriage takes place, Tonette requests the following conditions:
- she will stay in Jean’s homeland,
- she will live a normal life away from a royalty lifestyle along with their child,
- she will only allow royalty recognition based on the decision of the grandchild on the right time,
- she will allow the King and Queen to partake discreetly on the affairs not forcefully on the grandchild.
