Chapter 18         Without Further Ado …

       Eve of Kibum’s Birthday Celebration …

Location:             Kim’s Manor and at the Party’s venue…

Day 5  - At Daytime

Kibum wakes up early in the morning requesting Taeyang to have a conjured up duel with him in various activities like: martial arts (for combat and self-defense; unarmed and weapons-based like; knives, gun, sword, daggers, etc…), fencing, archery, horse race, etc…   

Somewhere hidden around the corner are Jessica and Heechul watching Kibum’s performances with Taeyang discussing…

Jessica:           Honey, does he really need those various combat and self-defense techniques?

 Heechul:          Well, you should know the answer better hon… did it help you in any way?

 Jessica:           (sighs) yeah, I got your point… I really wish he could have a normal life – like I did but I
                         guess reality shows the truth much better…

Heechul:          (chuckling) well… you were so great back then – got me fooled but I was not bothered by
                         it all. I was clueless…

 Jessica:           (laughing) your shocked face was so amusing…

 Heechul:          (breathes heavily and hugs Jessica) yeah – that was really fun and up to now – we are
                          still having fun…

 Jessica:           eeeewwww…cheesy chiz… I love you so much honey – that I also felt sorry that I could
                         only give you an only child…

 Heechul:          (shakes his head) Honey – I don’t care about that – a lovely-pretty-beautiful-magnificent
                         Bummie is just fine…

 Jessica:           (turns to Heechul) Honey, you are describing Bummie - the “son” differently….

 Heechul:          (waltzing Jessica) what can I say… he’s too far feminine looking and really, who would
                         argue Bummie’s physical appearance – my, he is really beautiful…

 Jessica:           (smiling) Do you know what am thinking?

 Heechul:          (jaw-drops) Hon – not again, what despicable idea are you even thinking right now…

 Jessica:           (shakes her head) uuhmmm nothing… it is just a wishful thinking… I was wondering what
                         if Kibum marries at a very early age… to that, we can have grandkids at earliest possible
                         time… don’t you think?

 Heechul:          (sighs deeply) aayooo…. Honey, our son is only turning 16 years of age – that is so too
                         far-fetched.

 Jessica:           (laughs) that is why I am saying, it is just my wishful thinking… Hon?

 Heechul:          yes?

 Jessica:           About our plan, it should go smoothly and unnoticed by Kibum… I have asked the Choi’s
                         family to come with us…

 Heechul:          Don’t worry hon, Mr. Taeyang is going to handle that…

 Jessica:           All for the good – if Kibum tires himself a lot…

 Heechul:          Hon, did you know that Papa called Kibum?

 Jessica:           Who told you?

 Heechul:          Mr. Taeyang?

 Jessica:           how?

 Heechul:          Kibum told him in passing…

 Jessica:           hhhmmm….what’s up with Dad lately…. I am getting paranoid…with all of his secret
                        dealings with Kibum…

 Heechul:          but honey don’t press Kibum for information – he doesn’t like that, you know…

 Jessica:           yeah, I know – if Bummie seals his lips it would mean, he is not the initiator. I believe
                        Bummie requested Dad to tell us instead of him. So we will just wait and see – what Dad’s
                        plan…but honey..

 Heechul:          what is it?

 Jessica:           I think I know what’s Dad up to… Gut-feel…

 Heechul:          Don’t worry darling – Papa loves Bummie too much almost acting more like the father
                         competing my role – but I really don’t mind it. I honestly appreciate it…

 Jessica:           (turns to look at Heechul in an aghast manner) eeehhh? Honey, you sure love Dad so
                         much too – almost fanatical…you know..

 Heechul:          (laughs) yeah… I love Papa so much…

 Jessica:           (kisses Heechul) I know… honey… I know and I love you for that…. Come let’s leave
                         Bummie while making ourselves busy with the party preparation – gosh I am so excited…

Meanwhile at the Choi’s Mansion

Leeteuk:          Darling, do we need to prepare our belongings for tonight and tomorrows’ events?, if so, I
                       will head to the room to ready mine so you don’t have to worry about it…

 Sooyoung:     Oh, Jessica said that we don’t have to bring anything – just ourselves… They will provide
                       us with everything we need even the clothes..

 Leeteuk:          really? So amazingly convenient… by the way darling, I have seen your costume designs
                        for the Kim’s family especially Kibum’s…

 Sooyoung:       yeah… gosh… darling, have you seen them? What do you think?

 Leeteuk:          are you kidding me – I felt like my eyeballs popped out – how enchantingly soothing to the
                         eyes… I don’t know – I am so amazed by you…

 Sooyoung:       yeah, thanks… Jessica ordered the materials from around the globe… she is absolutely
                         crazy…I even told her that we can manage finding all what we needed but she insisted of 
                         ordering them in various places…

 Leeteuk:          (looking so amazed) my dear, these are so fabulous – how many changes of wardrobes
                         are we talking about?

 Sooyoung:       more or less 4 to 5 times…. And these are all expensive materials – see the gold 18K
                         thread cloth type and the diamond beadings – these are really gorgeous…

 Leeteuk:          (shakes his head) I guess they are trying to make up for the lost times of Kibum’s not
                         wanting to celebrate his birthday (laughs)

 Sooyoung:       yeah, I guess so… Teukkie dear, be ready and inform Minho and Taemin to get ready as 
                         well as all of our household members. We are going to be picked up as soon as
                         possible…

 Leeteuk:          thanks hon (goes to the room of Minho and Taemin) Minho…Minho… get ready (knocks 
                         the room door while calling and then after goes to the room of Taemin doing the same
                         thing) Taemin… Taemin…get ready too.

Back at Kim’s residence, Heechul calls on Taeyang for the final instructions of the plan they have talked about a week ago…

                       Heechul:          Mr. Taeyang, is Bummie asleep?

Taeyang:         Yes, Sir Heechul…

 Heechul:          You know what to do… we need to reach the place by midnight so Bummie will be
                         readied for tomorrow’s party… I have requested Ms. Joonie to handle the travel itineraries
                         and the order of the travel…ok?

 Taeyang:         Yes Sir, don’t worry everything will be taken care of gently with Bummie…

Back at Choi’s residence, the doorbell sounds signaling for their pick up…

Leeteuk:          (Calls for Sooyoung, Minho and Taemin) Everyone, Ms. Joonie is here!

All the three respond, “We are ready, Good evening Ms. Joonie”

Joonie:            Good evening, Mr. Leeteuk, Ms. Sooyoung, Mr. Minho and Mr. Taeminnie. I have come to
                        pick you all up. Are everyone ready as well as your household members?

Leeteuk:          Yes, Ms. Joonie we are all ready… (calls on everyone) Let’s go everyone…

Two vehicles wait for all of them. One is a limo – for the Choi’s Family and the other vehicle is a 20 seater coaster for all of the Choi’s household members. As they are traveling to the Kim’s Manor, Joonie informs the Choi’s regarding Heechul and Jessica’s plan of action about what to do with Kibum for the travel to the venue. When done notifying, all of them are excited of how things will happen…

Joonie:            Mr. Leeteuk, Ms. Jessica preferred to let your children accompany Sir Kibum inside the 
                       accommodation at the venue… to occupy his time and not to be agitated although Ms.
                       Jessica trusts Sir Kibum’s mature character nature at least it will help Sir Bummie in
                       making his time and mind at peace while we handle the visitors for the said event.

 Leeteuk:          Oohh… fine then…

 Sooyoung:       (asking Minho and Taemin) you two alright with it?

 Minho:             (smiling) yes Mom

 Taemin:           (clasping his hands) sure mom – dad… we will love it…

 Joonie:            but just let me remind Sir Minho and Sir Teamin that you will not be allowed to go out of
                         the room until the event… You will have to stay inside the mansion starting tonight, ok?
                         However, please do not worry because the mansion is packed with all indoor games you
                         can find – they are all updated games thus it will be fun for the both of you and Kibum…

 Taemin:           (more eager than anyone) YESS!!

At the Kim’s manor; Heechul, Jessica and the entire household members are now all set for the trip. They all gather to the ballroom area while waiting for Bummie. Meanwhile at Bummie’s room, Taeyang prepares a perfumed hanky to be given to Kibum saying;

Taeyang:         Sir Bummie, your mom wants for you try this scent as one of the giveaways to all of your
                        visitors…

 Kibum:             Sure Mr. Taeyang (reaches his hands to get the hanky and intensely smells the perfumed
                         hanky)…yeah… this smells (suddenly in a fading voice saying) re-reallllly ggoooooddd
                         bbbuutt wwhaat iissss gggoinggg onnnn……. (then collapses)…

 Taeyang:         (catching Bummie's body) Sorry Bummie, we have to this… I hope you wont get mad at
                         me… (carries Bummie’s body and walks down the ballroom area)…

Taeyang enters the ballroom area where everyone is waiting for them to arrive. Just then, Jessica and Heechul run to Bummie to check on the latter’s condition…

Jessica:           (caressing Kibum’s face) sorry sweetie, we love you – sorry for doing this (and giggles)

 Heechul:         (when done checking on Kibum, calls on everyone) Let’s all head outside… Mr. Taeyang,
                        you know the arrangement?

 Taeyang:         Yes Sir Heechul…

 Heechul:          alright then, hon…let’s go…
