Kris stepped out from his sleek, black sports car, took off his sunglasses, and stared at the plain, less than average sight before him. “What is this place?” He muttered aloud to himself. From what he could see, this place was nothing but an old seaside town. There was nothing here. No fancy stores, big restaurants, cool bars, or....anything. There was the sea, the view was amazing, he'll give it that but there wasn't anything else but old homes, rundown stores, and ancient people. “Why out of all places, she chooses this one?”

He knew Hwayoung. He gave her the life of luxury, extravagance, and comfort. His wife got no less than the finest of jewelries, foods, clothes, and accessories. Kris Wu’s wife would receive nothing below that so why was it that she came to live in a place….like this? The complete opposite of the life of comfort he provided for her? “Why Hwayoung? Did you hate me so much that you’d give everything up to be away from me?”

It’s been over a month, nearly two since they’ve been separated. And Kris was glad that the private investigator Luhan hired could track his wife down, even if he didn’t get her exact address. When he called yesterday, Kris was in disbelief at the news because every search they tried, every lead they followed, ended in a dead trail. Hwayoung was adamant on not being found but along the way, there must’ve been some slip up because finally, they were able to track her down.

“Are you lost?”

Kris turned his head to the left and looked the down at the black hair man who blankly stared up at him. “What?”

“You don’t look like you belong here.” The guy bluntly stated, continuing to stare up at him with dark eye. “The big city’s an hour drive north.”

"I know where I am." Kris assured with furrowed eyebrows, wondering why this guy seemed so cautious of his presence. “I’m looking for someone.”

“Okay.”

“Have you seen this girl?" Kris pulled up a photo of Hwayoung from his phone hoping this man would know where his wife was.

Jongup stared at the black-haired girl in the photo and the gears in his brain turned. Yes, the girl looked familiar because he did recognize her but he wasn't about to reveal that. He wasn't close with Hwayoung but his friend, Yongguk was. And that was more than enough of a reason to not reveal her to this stranger. “No. Never seen her in my life.” Jongup smoothly lied, continuing to stare at the stranger blankly. He blinked once, twice and left, not bothering to turn back.

Kris sighed quietly, disappointed at the already empty turn out. Regardless, he wasn’t going to let that notion bring him down, not when he had a wife and unborn child to search for. This town was small and Hwayoung was here for nearly two months now. He was sure she had familiarized herse
