“Flattery won’t get you anywhere, dickwad.”
“Dickwad. Ha. It’s been a while since someone’s had the balls to call me that.”
Suddenly, he freezes. I can see something dawn in his eyes.
“Wait a minute. Wait a ing minute. I recognize that voice.” He slowly walks towards me. “That outfit. That mask. The fact that you didn’t kill my men... or draw a gun...,”
I clench my fists by my side.
“You’re Kim ing Lia.”
Foreword
My downfall was caused by a piece of notebook paper.
I thought it would be a bullet wound. Perhaps a dismembered limb. Maybe a really, really hard Physics exam.
But a scrap of torn, wrinkled notebook paper? Nope.
It’s funny how the most trivial things can actually contain the deadliest information. Like one accidental move and you've opened up a Pandora's box of utterly catastrophical insanity.
I know I’m being incredibly vague right now. But honestly, you don’t want to know all the details. Because if you do, your safety could be compromised too. Do you really want to end up like I did? If you want to witness more violence than you could ever imagine, see your friends get murdered right in front of your eyes, watch the destruction of everything you love- then fine.
