When Reality Clashes with Fiction

Description

Gu Hanri is still in the middle of getting her life back together when another problem walks into her life, or in this case, her bedroom.

Foreword

Studying for the finals is hard when you're juggling in your social life, your extra-curricular activities, and your job.

Studying for the finals is hell if you're juggling all those as well as just experiencing a breakup.

I groaned, slamming my head on my textbook. I've been stuck on the same page for the past five minutes and no information was processing in my mind. I started to feel the back of my eyes water when flashbacks of Joonmyeon fill in my thoughts and mind.

His touches handled with care. Gentle hugs. Lingering kisses. His lips forming words of knowledge towards people around him, eager to share new pieces of information he had learnt.

Catching him with another woman was heartbreaking. But catching him in bed with another woman was a whole different story. The signs of him cheating on me was something no one would notice at all. Maybe being intelligent probably helped him from getting into a sticky mess. Maybe he had made an error in his calculations when I decided to surprise visit him in his apartment. I don't know what went wrong in our relationship but I guess it's something I'm not ready to know yet.

I shuddered, as I imagined his grip on my wrist, soft and light as a feather. He would caress the inside of my wrist as a habit he had gained from our relationship.

Oh gosh, how I missed him so much. I leaned back on my chair while letting out a shaky breath. Realizing that I won't be able to study at all today, I slammed my notebooks shut and start to pack.

It's been a few days since that particular incident and I confess that I've been feeling the lowest I've ever been in my whole life. In that duration, I've been feeling out of myself, I spaced out more than usual. I was more clumsy that I normally was, and my focus in my studies hasn't been on point (far from it, to be quite honest), I've almost gotten myself fired when I had accidentally checked in a $12100 in the cashier register for the customer instead of $121. I had accidentally almost burned my whole index finger when I was deep frying the french fries. Injured customers filed a complaint to my manager about a slippery ground where I'd forgotten to place a 'wet sign' on the area where I had been mopping.

Leaving the quiet library while the sun was setting, I feel a gust of wind, cooling my warm body from the hot summer's day. I managed to crack a small smile, something that I haven't been able to do for a while now without memories of my ex-boyfriend consuming my consciousness.
