Foreword

It was supposed to be a mere garden party to foster interactions. However, with the scorching weather and ostentatious talks between adults, the thirteen-year-old young boy couldn't help but to start feeling very irritated, With a camera in his hands, he was able to quench his boredom by playing with its shutter. The lavish food served at the party was really delicious but the stuffy air had chased away his appetite to savour his favourite vanilla mousse. When is this going to end? The poor boy thought but still, he decided to put on an interested facade to not worry his father.

"Ah, long time no see, Mr Ji. Have your faamily been doing well?" One of the supposedly wealthy businessman approached them. Behind him, there's a girl hiding shyly while fidgeting with the hem of her dress.

"Yes, fortunately, they're all doing well. Oh, congratulations, Mr Hwang, I heard that your newly established clothing line turns out to be a great success. Next time, I'll make sure to stop by your shop and have a look around." The boy's father replied with a tangible grin.

"You're flattering me. By the way, would you mind to introduce your son to my daughter. She's the same age as him and her name is Hwang Mi-Young."

"Such a pleasant name. Well, my son's name is Ji Chang Wook." His father shifted his gaze towards the boy. "Come on, don't be shy. A man should make the first step." The boy looked away, obviously not interested in befriending the girl. He knew clearly that, even if he extended his hand first, there would be nothing but just a political relationship. Despite knowing how beneficial it would be to him, he still preferred to bridge a true and mutual friendship step by step. Both of the adults seemed to be having some affairs to attend, so they hushed their children to play together at the host's rose garden.

Oh my God. The boy wept in his heart. Knowing the situation he was in right now, he regained his posture and took a good look at the girl standing in front of him. The girl didn't start any topics so he assumed that she's probably taciturn. She was wearing a white floral-printed dress and a pair of combat shoes. Her eyes seemed to very captivated by the budding rose in front of her. Not being conzignant of her anymore, he opened his mouth to speak.

"Do you like roses that much?"

The girl paused slightly before turning to face him. With her face downwards, she replied with a timid tone, "Yeah, I like them the best when they're in full bloom."

"Why? They're just normal flowers."

The girl smiled warmly. "Well, they may seem so. But to me, I find them pretty awesome. A harmful composition under a catchy facade, just like everyone back there, don't you think so?" She stared upon the sky and let out a sigh. "I wonder if I'll ever be able to find a rose without any thorns. It won't be easy, I guess." She was startled when one of the bodyguards called for her, indicating the time for her departure, Before leaving, she flashed the boy a sincere smile, "See you. It's nice meeting you."

After the girl left, the boy fetched his camera and let out a sigh of relief. Thank God, she's completely unaware that I've taken her photo secretly.

That smile, was what that had taken his breath away. Clutching down while feeling his palpitating heart, a grin was plastered over his face without him knowing.

"Hwang Mi-Young....huh?"

A/N: Heyyy. This is a fan fiction between Tiffany of SNSD and Ji Chang Wook. It's a rare OTP, though. But I seriously shipped them together. I hope it's enjoyable reading my story! Have a nice day!
