Chapter 9

A Devil's Love

Loving someone who hates you is a tragedy. Its like drowning but you won't ing die.

"Bye." 7 years old Kai finally mustered up the courage to wave to the pretty girl who he had been staring at, from his car's window nearly for about fifteen minutes now.
He had expected nothing but his pretty crush gave him a beautiful smile and waved back at him which simply made him on cloud nine.
On the other side, his father was driving the car beside him and didn't fail to notice his son being all giddy.
"Wae Jongin-ah? Tell me too." his father asked with a hint of tease but affectionately. He gazed lovingly at his father's face and felt really lucky at how he could share anything with his father. His father was his only inspiration, someone he could look up to after his mother's death. Maybe the little Kai could not express it but he knew it very well.
These thoughts came to him every now and then but he decided to just rub it off and just muttered a simple "Nothing Appa." Rather he decided to close his eyes and enjoy the pure bliss he was feeling right now. The sheer happiness that his crush, Jung Krystal gave him couldn't stop him from smiling.

After a few minutes, Kai slowly opened his eyes only to find a car driving wildly right in front of him. Frightened, he screamed, "Appa!" And before his father could say anything the other car crashed right onto his. Kai fortunately ducked his head inside. When everything seemed to stop, he slowly looked up feeling a sharp pain on his forehead but when he turned around, his whole world came crashing down to see his dear father. His face was barely visible with blood covering all over. The blood wouldn't stop flowing down from his father's forehead. Kai couldn't seem to move or even speak. The worst scenario of his life was happening but he couldn't do anything at all, rather tears kept flowing down his eyes. He felt hopeless when neither could he help his father or call someone for help. With the shock he had just got and along with his bruise, he started feeling dizzy and his world went black.

He surely must have been unconscious all this time because when he woke up he was welcomed by the hospital bed. Slowly, all of the previous happenings came crashing onto him and he couldn't help but feel anxious. Suddenly a group of police officers came into the room and a young officer slowly said, "Sorry Mr.Jongin, your father is no more." Tears slowly trickled down his face but no sound came. He was hurt deep down to core and scarred for his life.

Suddenly, Kai woke up and realized that it was just a bad dream of his past, actually a nightmare and his eyes seemed to be wet with tears because of it. It was the worst thing that ever happened in his life and it hunted him right until now. He tried to wipe the tears from his eyes but he couldn't bring himself to do it when he realized that someone was rather clutching his hand tightly. He slowly looked down to see the intruder only to find Jung Krystal holding his hands firmly and sleeping right beside him with her head on the bed and body sitted on the ground. Repulsive by that, he hastily removed his hand from her grip. Finally last night memories hit him when he looked around the environment. The memories of him getting drunk and telling Krystal things that he shouldn't have told, all came back to him like a whirlpool and just thinking about that made him feel dizzy. He quickly got out of the bed and walked out of the house cause he hated how he was with the girl he loathed the most.

Next morning, when the bright sun rays fell upon Krystal's face, she slowly woke up only to find Kai gone and herself sleeping so uncomfortably. She looked at her hand that Kai had clutched while having a nightmare and couldn't help but wonder how bipolar and dangerous he can be. One time he told her not to go near Sehun and next time he would hopelessly walk out and ignore her as she was a nobody. She wanted to know how much did the past really hurt him to make him such a heartless devil ? Yes Krystal acknowledged her wrong doings in the past but she believed that dealing with Kai all time certainly had paid her prices.

Brushing it off, she got ready for school, had her breakfast and went off. She entered the classroom and saw Kai sitting right on his bench beside Krystal. It was once in a blue moon that Kai ever came to school that early. Krystal made her way towards her desk and tried to initiate a conversation but he just ignored her as if she was a wall which made her think whether yesterday's conversation between  Kai and her was just a dream. A dream which she badly wished to be real cause even if she was used to this cold side of Kai, even thought she pretended as if it didn't affect her but deep down in her heat she was hurt -deeply.

Before Krystal could think anything more, the teacher entered the classroom. He started the lecture and Krystal kept on taking notes. But at the end the teacher mentioned a project work which caused stir among the students and the topic of the 2000 words essay was 'Memories Of My Childhood.' Krystal suddenly felt as if she was shaken from the ground she was standing. She was seized by the sin she had committed years ago and was seized by the remorse and the sense of guilt such no language could describe. Even Kai and Sehun who hardly ever listened to any of the lectures seemed to open his eyes widely and process what the teacher just announced.

Memories.Of.Childhood . The topic itself was enough to bring back all that dark past which all of them had buried years ago. In simple, it was a tragedy.

"." Kai cursed which was clearly heard by the whole class. The teacher seemed offended and looked straight at Kai and added, "25 marks for this essay and it will be added in your finals." Then he dismissed the class and went out.
The class started discussing and gossiping but the atmosphere at the three seats where Krystal, Kai and Sehun were sitting was simply menacing. Krystal flinched and couldn't help feeling frightened cause Kai looked so infuriately dangerous, as if he was ready to take some life. She couldn't help but fear for herself.
Kai pushed away his desk and stood up so dangerously that his bench fell down too. He harshly kicked Krystal's desk and strode out of the classroom. Sehun followed suit but calmy and cooly unlike Kai. Krystal just stayed sitted cause she didn't want to go and risk her life in the battle that was going to happen.

Infuriated, Kai walked to the abandoned balcony at the corner of the building and lightened his cigarette but as if on cue Sehun joined him only to make him more angry.
Sehun broke the silence, "So, running away from your past?"
"I have to when the past involves you." Kai snarled back especially giving a force on 'you'.
Sehun maintained his infamous poker face.
"Son of a ." Kai cursed under his breath and turned around to leave.
But Sehun intruded again, "Where are you going?"
"Not to meet your girlfriend so mind your own business." Kai retorted.
Sehun replied, "If you do want to meet my girlfriend then she's in the classroom."
Both of them exactly knew who Sehun was indicating.
So Kai slowly smriked and said, "I am afraid it might break your heart but we just spent the night together."
Sehun was redeemed speechless. Satisfied, Kai turned around to leave. "Bastard!" Sehun yelled at him but he just smriked and went on his way.

On the other side, it felt like hours for Krystal but Kai and Sehun had still not returned back. So Krystal too make her way out to search for them. She looked around but couldn't find them anywhere. Finally when she was about to give up, she heard voices from a corner and when she turned around to look, it was none other than Kai and some girl making out. Kai was kissing her fiercely and touching her everywhere. It was quite a scene for Krystal. She was dumbfounded and hurt but before she could think about anything else, someone slowly backhugged her and brought his hand to cover her eyes so she couldn't see anything.
"Babygirl." he whispered in her ears. She quickly recognized that the intruder was none other than Oh Sehun and she was more than thankful to him for intruding.

It seemed like Sehun had a lot to say but he just said, "Believe me, loving someone who hates you is a tragedy. Its like drowning but you won't ing die." He warned her in a short sentence but enough to hunt her down for years.
