On Jongin's fourteenth nameday, under the crescent glow of the maiden moon, Jongin was gifted a friend.

No, it was at that moment not yet a friend. It was still a boy, an eleven year old kid with a wide yet shy stare. He was hiding behind the much taller frame of Junwoo, small hands clenched into black slacks and white teeth biting into thick lips. The boy had smooth round cheeks and a timid stance, but he was not just a boy, on his neatly combed black hair loomed two triangular droopy cat ears and behind him peeked a long tail looping close to his legs, on his neck was a collar with his name etched into it. He was a cat hybrid, a gift.

His brother was giving him a friend, or at least a companion.

But right now, he's just a property.
