Please Don't Ignore Me

Description

A slender, young woman clad in skinny fit jeans and a casual black sweatshirt walked at a rapid pace down the street. The military cap she wore was tilted down, covering her eyes, and a white muffle mask was placed across . She wasn't sick, but she didn't want anyone on the streets to recognize her and attract unwanted attention. The woman wanted to be left alone.while she made her way towards her destination. Fortunately, the sidewalks were not as crowded as they usually were, and people that passed by her didn't give her a second glance, their minds too preoccupied with their own thoughts. She grinned beneath her mask and hurried her way towards a tall and rather luxurious apartment complex, stepping inside once the automatic sliding doors slid apart due to her presence.

Several tenants that were around stared in her direction, her heartbeat gradually racing in response to possibly getting found out, but no one spoke out if they recognized who she was. Inhaling sharply, the young woman went over to the elevators and made sure to enter one alone. The room she wanted was on the top floor and she pressed the corresponding button on the panel to ride up the eleveator, standing still and silently with arms folded over her chest. The quiet hum of the elevator making its way up the floors was the only sound in the air other than her own impatient toe tapping against the ground.Once the elevator doors opened, she stepped out and walked down the hallway till she reached the apartment she wanted to see. She raised a finger and firmly pressed it against the buzzer. Seconds later the screen opened and a familiar brunette appeared, gazing back at the camera.

"Who is it?"

She pulled down her mask and smiled. "It's me, unnie."

"Ah! Okay! Give me a second..."

Just like she said, the door opened a second later and the brunette immediately enveloped the other in a tight, warm embrace, a bright smile curved on her lips. "Hey, Krystal."

The younger Jung giggled softly as her sister hugged her, wiggling her arms free so she could return the hug. "It's nice to see you, again."

Jessica pulled away slightly to give the other a light slap on the arm. "What are you talking about? You make it sound like we haven't seen each other in forever when I just saw you like... five days ago."

"Five days is a long time, you know. I couldn't wait to see you again," Krystal smiled brightly. The smile faded too soon for Jessica's taste and the smile was replaced by a furrowed brow. "To be honest... I wanted to talk to you about something, Unnie."

The former Girls' Generation member nodded slowly and stepped aside to make room for her sister. "Let's talk inside then. Come on in."

Once they both were inside the apartment, Jessica led Krystal to sit at the dinner table. Krystal took a seat at one of the ends of the table and fiddled around with the apps on her phone while the older Jung prepared cups of coffee for the both of them. When Jessica came back with their cups of coffee, she set the cup in front of Krystal while taking a seat perpendicular to her sister, the younger of the two saying her thanks. Jessica was curious and somewhat concerned about why her sister would go through the trouble of meeting her in person to discuss whatever when she could have easily called her or video call her.

Jessica took a careful first sip of her coffee before breaking the silence between them. "So what's been on your mind? It's unusual for you to come here out of the blue without any prior notice."

Krystal traced the rim of her coffee mug, eyes downcast at the coffee, exhaling softly. "It's... Well... I'm not sure how to start."

"Start wherever you like. I'm here to listen," the brunette nodded firmly and placed her hand on top of her sister's.

Krystal sighed again and bit down on her bottom lip as she took her time to collect her thoughts. Jessica her thumb against the back of Krystal's hand while she waited for Krystal to speak up, however, once the younger Jung finally picked her starting point, it wasn't anything she was expecting when Krystal looked up and finally looked into her eyes.

"It's about Sooyoung unnie."
