Foreword

Chanmin's POV. Kim's residence

"How is your high school, chanmin?" My dad asked."Good, dad" I replied before I stood up from a dinning table, finished my dinner and walked away silently. " There is a few months left until you finish your high school. What do you want to study for colleague?" " I don't know" I said as my eyes glued on the TV. "Chanmin, listen. If you don't know what to do then just don't do it. I will marry you to a nice boy..." "ENOUGH, DAD. I mean why would you and mom want me to marry so bad, not even letting me graduate from colleague?" without letting him finish his sentence, I hollered as blood running through my body. " Honey, I was married at your age too. I couldn't even graduate." My mom patted my head. I stood up from the sofa and ran to my bedroom.

What on earth are they doing? It was 20th century and they wanted me to get married right after I finish my high school. I sit on the bed and cried my heart out. My parents have always been good to me, but everything has slowly changed since a year ago. I couldn't sleep that night, so I went down stair for a glass of water to calm myself. It was 1am, so I walked silently hoping not to wake anyone up, but there was still rays of light came from my parents' room. I went closer and eavesdropped their conversation.

"Is it that bad, yeobo?" "it is not now, but it is going to be. I can earn average living by fishing, but I don't think it is enough for Chanmin to enter the colleague." my dad said with a low tone and I heard my mom was sobbing. Tears was rolling down my cheeks as I heard everything. Memories started to reflect back and it hit me hard. Without letting them notice my presence, I quickly ran back to my room and cried. So, the reason why they didn't allow me to enter colleague and marry me because they couldn't afford it. My family was a poor family in the town, even though, they would never let me know we were that poor to the point that I couldn't afford to enter colleague. It was all my FAULT.

_________---------_____________

"Yebin, where are you? I am in front of the school now" I dialed my best friend, Yu Yebin. "Surprise!!" Someone jumped instantly in front of me, but this trick seemed to be no use anymore because I know it is no other than my stupid best friend. I stood still and looked at her with a smile "No fun girl. You should be at least show me some reactions. You ain't like this before." She said as she placed her hand on my shoulder. My mouth curved up a tiny smile again and we both walked to our class. I had no mood to play as I remembered everything last night.

"Good morning, everyone" my room teacher greeted. "Well! As you know, I told all of you to come early today because of have 2 news for you guys. One is bad while another one is good. Which one do you want me to announce first?" He smiled. " GOOD NEWS! GOOD NEWS!" Everyone chanted. " STOP!!! or you will hear some more bad news since I also bring many exercises with me." He hollered. Mr. Wang was a kind person, he is just a bit aggressive once in many times. " so the good news is that there is a famous university which offers us a scholarship to study your favorite subject in Seoul. It is a very famous one which only rich and smart people can afford to go in."  "Wow! Ow! I want to go" my classmates said excitedly. " Anyways, the bad news is that there is only one scholarship which means only a person can get this and it is a very hard one. So be ready for the challenge, guys" he finished off and started our lessons. I couldn't concentrate on the lesson because my mind was attached to the news, THE SCHOLARSHIP. If I get this, I will be free to enter colleague without my parents' help. My dream was coming true.

After the class ended, I ran quickly to my teacher. " Mr. Wang. I want to ask you about the scholarship." I said. " What do you want to know?" He smiled. " How can I get that and Is my study's record enough to compete? because it has been down lately" I asked as I lowed down my head. " Well, as I have been teaching you for 3 years, even if you are not rank 1 in the class now, I know you are more than enough to get this scholarship. If it wasn't that incident last year that bother your study, you could even get this automatically. If you put a side the problems and worked harder, I know you are capable of this. I will get you the form from my office and you will take the test next week. I believe in you, Chanmin." He smiled and walked away. So, I must get this.

Time flew fast and we were finally released from the school- so called- prison. I arrived home and told my parents about the news. They were so happy and cheered me up to study. I went in my bedroom and studied my best for next week.

/FAST FORWARDED/

"Hwaiting, honey" my parents hugged me and kissed me before I enter my exam room. " You, girl. You need to pass this or I won't let you enter the same colleague in Busan with me." Yebin smirked. It was the day to decide my future. Colleague life or Married life.
