Mercury [rewriting]
Description
In which an alleged murderer swears to keep her safe under his wing, but all she can think about is how freaking familiar his dimples are.
“Have you ever met someone for the first time, but in your heart you feel as if you’ve met them before?”
– JoAnne Kendrick, When A Mullo Loves A Woman
"So... Mercury. Is that like, a reference to Sailor Mercury from 'Sailor Moon' or something? Because don't get me wrong, it's wicked and all, but it's a tad bit unfitting for someone who dedicates himself to helping corrupt businessmen, don't you think?"
Aera was born gifted – or cursed, depending on how you look at it – with an innate ability to connect with people who are reincarnations of those she had met in her past lives. One of them just so happens to be a mysterious agent (and potential murderer, by the way) whose face no one has ever seen before, wanted by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency with the codename of Mercury.
When one of Mercury's multi-million dollar assignments spirals downwards into a tumultuous mess that has several carats of rare gemstones and Aera's life at stake, he is forced to abduct and sweep her under his wing but only to protect her from harm, or so he claims.
What she didn't exactly plan on was falling in love with him (all over again).
He had black hair and even blacker eyes – shrouded by an inky darkness that she could only associate with that of burnt coal and the midnight sky. Yixing's dusky gaze sparked bolts of all-too-familiar electricity that transcended past the boundaries of time and broke out a war within her.
In other words, Aera was ed.
