Krystal's p.o.v

I woke up in the nurse's office, holding onto my head from the diziness. My eyes were unable to focus on a clear image. All I remember was being carried after fainting during gym class by now many of the student had departed home. 

There came the echoing sound of footsteps and I felt my heart race. Who could it have been?

"Are you all right", a deep but subtle voice asked.

The voice was revealed to belong to Kim Jongin.

A smile crept across my face, as I thought about how lucky I was to have him.

I looked away in hopes of hiding my blushing face.

"Hey, Soojung look at me" he smirked, slowly making his way closer to my bed.

I inched back away from him, not wanting to reveal such a nervous state to him.

"Thank you for being there when you were ", I thanked not looking at him, as I bit my lip.

"It's nothing, I've got to protect my fair maiden from danger", he joked.

The truth is Jongin asked me out last week after breaking up with his ex-girlfriend Jiyeon. I was new to this entire relationship thing and he was there to help me along the way. He's been nice to me ever since then. His smile is so contagious, my heart flutters just being near him. 

He sat on the edge of my bed. My eyes rapidly darted from left to right afraid to look up. I felt the warm gaze he sent my way, I looked down at my fingers in an attempt to avert his gaze from my face.

He took my hands in his and brought my face towards his.

Was this really going to happen right now?

I felt his warm breath on my face as he moved in closer. I closed my eyes nervously anticipating what was to happen.

"Pft..," he laughed.

My face froze over, my hands found my face in an attempt to cover it. My lips quivered with my eyes shutting. 

"Jiyeon, I can't do this, just look at her", he laughed.

Upon hearing that, my head slowly rose from my hunched state and I opened my eyes to see Jiyeon walk out from inside the closet.

"Come on, Jongin. You were supposed to kiss her, that was our bet. I even gave you a two weeks. You know how hard it was to be apart from you?" she frowned with her arms crossed.

"Yah, but look at her, she was so into it", he continued, with his histerical laughter.

I felt my eyes water. I averted my gaze to the open window. I felt destroyed. How could he? All those words meant nothing to him, all that time we spent together, the places we went to, the smile he had pastered on his face the entire time... It was all a lie...

I couldn't hold it in. 

"Is she crying? I think you really broke her heart", Jiyeon laughed bringing the camera towards my face.

I was frozen, unable to move.

I felt their hot stares on my face.

This had to have been the most embarrassing moment of my life.

"So all the time we spent together meant nothing to you?", I asked through unnoticeable sobs, already anticipating the answer.

"Why would I ever like someone like you, no personality, too shy and decent looking. When I have someone like her", he answered grabbing Jiyeon by the waist and pecking her cheek.

"And you... the fight you had... you knew it was fake all along", I managed in between sobs.

This was the first time I actually gave my heart to someone and he just took it and stepped on it.

"Jongin, you know you lost the bet, right. That means you have to treat me", she cheered happily.

"But, I fully had her, I was this close", he whined, begging the female.

I sank even further down on the bed. They didnt even care about my presence.

Was that all I was: A Bet.

I hated him.

I hated her.

I hated everyone.

I just wanted to vanish.

I opened the door with damp hands, damp from my tears.

I walked clumisily upstair towards my room. I had two days to keep to myself and recover from this humiliating time. I was worried about what this cruel fate would lead me to do. My mind was trying to figure out what I did to deserve what had happened. I've been a great student one of the best. I have a few friends. 

"Soo Jung, we're in the living room. Do you mind coming down for a minute", mom asked from downstairs, interrupting my thinking process.

I made my way slugishly down the steps of the house, the pain still fresh in my mind and in my heart. 

"What's wrong?", my sister asked me, once I arrived in front of everyone.

I shrugged her off taking a seat on the couch.

"So... I have great news", mother beamed.

"Your fath-"she attempted before getting cut off by father.

"Honey, let me explain my own story", he smiled at her.  

"I've gotten promoted to work take over one of our branches located in the states", he finished, with a proud grin.

We looked at each other then at our father. What was he saying? Promotion?

"You guys can at least say something", mom asked pouting at our reaction.

"That's great news", I spoke blankly, still trying to take in the information I was recieving. 

A smile crept across my face in realization of the situation. 

This was good news. This was what I wanted, this is what I needed.

I would get to restart my image, a new Soojung. A new beginning in America.
