About Me

My name is Carly.  I'm pretty simple--a girl from Pennsylvania here to read, write, and comment fics from outstanding and sprouting authors here.  I am a moderator here, I don't get paid to do it, I just want to help people here and help make improvements to better the site.  I've been here for a while, gained a lot of knowledge in fic ettiquete and writing in general.  I learned how to write from my own success and failure, not from a textbook in my school.  I don't base my success on my statistics--subscribers or views or comments; I base my success on my work-ethic and dedication to any of my stories.  I believe that some of my lowest-subsribed and viewed stories are better.  I believe that, in this world, exist those that cheat and lie to get ahead.  I am not one of those people.  I do not wish to be one of those people.  I'm very abstract.  I ramble quite often.  I enjoy the inventive use of long metaphors to make a simple point more confusing.  Ideas are precious to me and I believe the theft of those is something impossibly horrific.  I used to write poetry a lot.  A lot of it is sickeningly depressing and I cannot explain why.  Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who thinks the way I do.  It's hard to explain who I am in a mere word, phrase, sentence, paragraph.  Hell, it would be difficult to describe myself in a novel.  I'm not the type of person that will censor myself for the better of everyone else.  I am selfish and hypocritical.  I am complex and an independent individual.  Life has been hard on me.  I've had struggles that effected me mentally and physically.  Most people think I'm a happy person.  Truth is, I'm a stoic.  And I like it that way.
