If you like classics Dracula or Frankenstein. I expected them to be scary but it’s more about topics like society and xenophobia. If you like action and adventure, the divergent series. If you like crime and tragedy maybe the great gatsby or Brighton Rock.

I really like all the books about Percy Jackson. It's not quite for my age but I love how the author makes you learn about mythology while reading. I also liked a lot of Sophie Kinsella books, not the series but stand-alone ones. and I started to read classics like Peter Pan, Lolita, The Princess Bride or Secret Garden :)

@RinYukituji Yes, there is a movie? I will definitely watch it once I finished the book.
The book is really good too, though it is one of the older ones, it is well written and really interesting^^

Because AFF decided it’s a good idea to delete one’s long comment, so I’m repeating this but now shorter just so I won’t get deleted again. I suggest The Maze Runner series, Robert Langdon series, The Demon Cycle series, and the Shadowhunter series. Especially the Demon Cycle series, it’s good af. ((Small shoutout to my fanfic ‘Demons’-))

*rolls up sleeves* Get ready, mate-
1. The Maze Runner Series (The Maze Runner, The Scorch Trials, The Death Cure, The Kill Order, The Fever Code) by James Dashner
Technically, it’s not the most recent story I read as this was a series I finished two years ago, but I’m still suggesting it because it is a good freaking series.
2. Robert Langdon Series (Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons, Inferno, The Lost Symbol, Origin) by Dan Brown
I haven’t read ‘Origin’ yet, but I’m adding it up there just for the sake of it. I highly recommend Da Vinci Code, especially if you been to the Louvre. (Not necessary, but if you gone there, the ending will surely blow your mind, in my opinion at least)
3. The Demon Cycle Series by Peter V Brett
I HIGHLY SUGGEST THIS, DON’T QUESTION ME. *flails arms* GAAH, I CAN’T BELIEVE NO BOOKSTORES NEAR MY AREA IS SELLING THE FREAKING THIRD BOOK! AND THEY’RE LIKE ALREADY AT THE SIXTH OR SOMETHING ASDFJKL
Sorry, needed to get that out of my system for a bit.
Basically, a good story. It is slow build so you have to have the patience of a mountain; not only that if the constant (not really) changing of POVs is not your cup of tea, then maybe don’t read this.
BUT, the story is good, and that’s all that matters.
((I have a fan fiction based on this series even, THAT’S just how much I love the series-))
((*cough* small shoutout to my fanfic ‘Demons’-))
4. Shadowhunter Series by Cassandra Clare
One of the few books with female main characters that I actually enjoyed reading. Definitely not because there is a biual character in there and there’s a gay couple in the series too, mmhmm, nope, I swear-
But seriously, I recommend this!
