Are there any types of fanfictions that you mostly don't prefer to read?

I'm not calling anyone out, or saying that their work is 'bad', or 'unacceptable', but everyone obviously has their own choices.

Are there any kind of fanfictions that you prefer not to read? For me, it's the first person POV that I just don't seem to like, but that's just my choice.

Let's not fight and have some nice constructive conversation, shall we?

for me i can read anything as long as it's readable. I always find myself cringing and disliking when people messing up with grammars and phrases. Of course not everyone is good at English but if you want to write the least you can do is to learn first.

I don’t like idol x idol fic because there’s already a possibility they’re dating in real life. I prefer idol x oc because I imagine the oc is me, and since it’s fan fiction for a reason that it’s never probably gunna happen lmfaoooo

Honestly, I don't care for OC x Idol fics. I'm not saying they're bad, but all of my fics I write and the ones I consist of idol x Idol.

Personally I don't like reading , or yuri and it makes me very uncomfortable when I'm reading something that's not that and all if a sudden there's a scene. And I excluded these tags but some authors don't tag it and it frustrates me.

Anything too soft or fluffy.. I get bored. But some fluff is definitely essential!

I absolutely can’t read a story with this type of punctuation:

“Hi, person A .”. Said person B .

Like, you don’t need a space before your freaking period. So punctuation, grammar, and spelling are really important. Like everyone else, I hate when they overuse korean words. I use them too, bit only when the character is addressing a hyung/unnie/noona in dialogue. BUT I NEVER USE OPPA. OPAA IS CRINGEY OK. I’m fine with OCs, as I do write with them. But let’s say it’s baekhyunxOC, I only tag Baekhyun because while EXO is in it, it’s nit revolving around EXO.

as the genre with the most tags, there are lots of bad fics here and there that makes me like romance. I didn't realize that the whole 'you' and unnecessary korean words fiasco remained. but either way, decent fictional element can get abused REAL fast by writers with undeveloped writing skills.
first pov can get cheesy and awkward with younger AFF authors.

Personally, I do not like to read fanfics with these themes:
- mpreg (because like every one else who has previously commented, it's weird for me to imagine how guys can conceive hehee)
- (or any other ual violence - there's already a lot of darkness and negativity in the world right now please spare the fanfictions)
- self-harm (e.g., suicide)
- ia
- where there is one character (either male or female) and all the other characters are falling for him/her because he/she is perfect in every way (mary sue kind of stuff - this is too superficial)

i actually agree with yooseol
if they add like “yah, ireona”
i’m gonna immediately close the tab and find other fics lol

and i highly prefer third pov. although i wont mind reading first pov as long as it’s good.

Fics with an absolutely unnecessary amount of Korean words forced into English conversation (Omo, Jinja, Mwo etc)

- mpreg (because I can never grasp the idea of men giving birth)
- wolf!au/abo!au whatever it is called (because most of the times it's the same plot and conflicts being used over and over again)
- 2nd pov (it just feels weird to me)
- domestic
- non!au (I'd like to separate the reality from fiction)

(VERY UNPOPULAR OPINIONS CONTAINED HEREIN)

Honestly, romance. I don't like romance.

Granted, there have been a few gems that I have come across that had "romance" as a tag, but romance was in no way the main point of the story.

Some other tags that I remove from the listings when going to tags are "you" (honestly, the idea of this is just weird, a strange use of the Second Person POV, and nothing breaks up a story better than a character's name being "Y/N"), "reader" (same thing), and sometimes "originalcharacter". (Admittedly, I am being slightly hypocritical here, as I have original characters in some stories. But honestly, if I want to read a BTS fanfic, I want to read a BTS fanfic that actually focuses on BTS. I don't want to know about someone else.)

THAT BEING SAID - I am not saying that all stories with these tags are bad. I'm sure there are hundreds - thousands - of stories with these tags that are multitudes better than anything I have ever typed, I am just saying that these themes are not my cup of tea.

Mpreg! To me it's a bit weird that guys can get pregnant without much explanation, so I usually don't venture much into mpreg
