@damnationSUruck Aaaa me too !! I never got to play it since I'm an only child and no one else in my family plays video games so I just watch the playthroughs online, but I love love love the plotline and the concept of the Butterfly Effect. I actually have some ideas in mind if you end up wanting to write and collaborate on the Until Dawn plot since I think it'd be really cool if perhaps I made an applyfic based on the game, so tell me if you'd be interested or anything!

@aquamarine-- You got that right about each of these being unique in their own right. Not gonna lie, I've been plotting something inspired by Until Dawn in my mind ever since watching a Youtuber play it. I got to play it myself a few months ago and it was a really refreshing experience. What a thrilling story! But alas, a story based on the games/anime you mentioned is going to be so extensive. I suppose that's one reason to have a person hesitating when it comes to exploring these worlds in a fan fiction, haha.

I don't play a lot of games but I always thought a runescape or maplestory AU would be really cool HAHA

@damnationSUruck It's kinda sad since fanfics written in a video game universe would be so unique and exciting (if done right, ofc).
Horizon Zero Dawn has a pretty complex world and lotsa little plot twists but I think it would be such a rich fanfiction bc of that! :D

I've thought of writing a few in the past, based on the concepts of Until Dawn, The Last of Us, and Sword Art Online the anime since all three are really unique and I'd love to touch up on them. Personally though, I haven't seen many fanfics based on these since I only read and even with that, I'm more of a writer than a reader, but I'd love to see stories revolving around the kind of AU because I think it's a very fascinating concept and tends to set stories apart from other ones

@house-laurie Man, that seems to be true considering a lot of users confessed they don't see them often at all! I want more video game stories, ah. Horizon's got a pretty stunning open world. Imagine the descriptives!

@damnationSUruck Just a little. Like I said, my library is very bare, so I haven't done much gaming on PC, but I want to. The Sims is great btw. And yeah, the industry has definitely come a long way. I haven't really seen much about Mass Effect in my life, I but I did hear about that game though, and it didn't seem like many were feelin it when it came out lol.

I don't think I've tried out or played an FPS before or really played fighting games much (except for like old Mortal Kombat probs, which, like you, was cause of my older brother having games back when I was younger). RPGs I can certainly get behind and enjoy a lot. I've seen gameplay of Dead Space and COD Zombies, and those would be pretty cool story settings, especially Dead Space out of the two I feel.

@YeojaUiMongsang Oh, do you game on PC as well? I have to admit, I only have The Sims 2 and Sim City on my PC, haha, they're the only games I play on it. Grew up though with Mortal Kombat 4 and Doom and Quake; these games along with my older brother got me into gaming. It's crazy to see though how the industry has evolved. So much has changed and improved (although a lot of games are still questionable--yes, I'm looking at you, Mass Effect: Andromeda), and online is such a huge part of gaming as a whole.
Personally, I enjoy FPS, RPG and fighting game genres and am not too into puzzles and mystery games. I tend to get frustrated with those that don't allow you to take action whenever you want, haha. I've gamed mostly on PC and PlayStation my whole life (save for XBox, we also have a 360 and enjoyed a good few games on it). Thus far, my favourite game though has to be Dead Space, and the Call of Duty: Zombies universe is all sorts of crazy amazing. Just imagine if we could get stories set in AUs like these!

Omg, I totally agree! It feels like there's hardly anybody on this site who enjoys video games :/
But now you made me want to write a yoonmin story set in Horizon Zero Dawn so Imma go do that haha :'D

@damnationSUruck Although I am a gamer, honestly I feel like my library of games, or like my overall field and reach of them isn't that much haha (playing myself wise). Which is something I definitely want to work on expanding because there are lots of awesome games out there that I have seen but, never had the means to getting to play them. Like, I have a Steam account (now), but for the longest time I didn't and it is also VERY bare, so I gotta fill it up.

In terms of what I do have and play myself, I'd consider myself mostly a Nintendo person, as I've only cared to buy their systems and own them myself (my older brother has like an N64 and an Xbox 360, so I got to play those when I was younger). I'd say out of all genres, I really like strategy and puzzle stuff, games that make you think, but I also think I'm cool with many other stuff if it interests me. For example, my favorite series is the Ace Attorney/Phoenix Wright Games. Then recently, I picked up the Mario + Rabbids games which is a tactical turn based RPG and I am loving it! Also, I played a demo for a game still in development, Project Octopath Traveler, which is a RPG made by Square Enix where you'll be able to choose between 8 different characters each with different stories in the full game and that one is pretty nice too.

Tell me about it, Zan. I sometimes wonder if it's a tag mishap though? Because searching the tag 'videogame' in the search bar here gives me little to nothing of what I think when putting Kpop and specific video game AUs together, OTL.

@YeojaUiMongsang Man, I can't even begin to explain how I crave these AUs. They're just so rich and full of fan fiction potential that it's sort of painful to see little to none on AFF? I actually don't mind anime AUs either, some shows feature lovely universes.
Thanks for recommending as well! I don't read boyxboy pairings, but the thought still counts! I haven't played Destiny myself, but still, seeing the universe used like this is really refreshing. No, I haven't found any at all -_- It's actually quite disappointing. Makes me wonder if there is just a lack of gamers on this site (which is sad 'cause video games are amazing). You know how much I enjoy them and how much I'd kill for some good video game aus lol

Are you my long lost pen pal fren or something, because we are totally on the same page here lol. I am also a videogame person myself, playing and watching peeps on YouTube and Twitch and what not, and I love the idea of peeps making stories inspired by or having to do with videogames in some way (same thing with anime, but I guess that's a different area). I don't think I've ever written/put out a VG story having to do with KPOP peeps (yet), but I definitely do have some already up my sleeve and plan to continue creating more, because lots of games are really cool and they are a main source for my inspiration. Just last night I was watching a guy livestream Destiny 2 and thought to write some type of Sci-Fi story using some elements from it.

On another Destiny note (lol, that transition tho), there was a fanfic that I read about the group UP10TION that the author said was based off Destiny and I enjoyed it IIRC!
