opinion on so called "sunken ships"

Yeah, like the title says, give your opinion about "sunken ships"

What is your opinion on people declaring a ship as sunken? Which ships do you think have sunken? Opinion on people still writing fics for sunken ships? Or something else about sunken ships?

Just comments and lets discuss this topic together ^^

The way I see it, sunken ships in KPOP groups could be counted as something that happens when a member leaves.

Like for example, for EXO it could be Taoris or Hunhan. For the latter, they were a strong couple before Luhan left the group, so now they could be considered "sunken" since we don't really get anything new from them anymore. I don't think it's sunken in a way that nobody ships them anymore, but it's just that we won't get anything new from them anymore. Other ships include Hanchul from Super Junior or Chunjoe from Teen Top, both sailed very strongly when the respective members were still in the group. I miss them ; u ;

For those still writing about these ships, I think it’s fine and I support it completely. You can’t really say that just because a ship has sunk, you can’t ship or write about them anymore, especially if they inspire you or you really like them. In fact, stories may be the only way fans of the ship could get anything from the ship and keep it thriving, thus not really considering that it is sinking / sunken in the first place.

does this include kdrama "sunken ships?" i'm more of a kdrama fan so i'm referencing mainly to kdramas.

i guess a ship is declared sunken if the pair they're rooting for do not end up together. this mainly happens for dramas with very strong sls i.e. reply 1994, reply 1988, school 2015, hwarang, and boys over flower, just to name a few. i'm grateful for the people who write about my "sunken ships," at least i can turn to fanfics even if the pair i was rooting for did not end up canon. my worst case of sls would be reply 1994. even after all these years, i stil cannot fathom how she could have chosen trash over chilbongie. but that's love i guess. my most recent case would be hwarang, for some reason i still think that she would have been better off with sam maek jong. maybe it's because the female lead had so much more chemistry with the second lead than the male lead.
