English course in Malaysia- help

Soooo, anybody who thinks of taking/is taking/took this course in Malaysia, may I ask for some direction? I know I want to apply for this course, but I'm not sure where I want to go. I'm targeting University of Malaya, but that is hard to get so I want to have some more options. My second choice is Unimas because it is close with my hometown, Sarawak, but I want to keep my option broad.

And, for those who are taking or had this course, if you want can you give some insight on how your studying go?

I took an English related course in university. but if you're from Sarawak...i'd say it's better to study in East Malaysia. for economical purpose (if that's even an issue) since my friends from East Malaysia used to hover Airasia website all the time in class to look for right timing and cheap rates for plane tickets to go back during holidays n i'd be stressful if i were in that position. and because i myself applied to university according to convenience since it's in my city n i'm kinda a cheapster :p all my choices when applying were universities in my hometown or close enough lol. i don't think quality is something that can be equated from reputation entirely...as long as the university is certified i'm fine with it. speaking from experience, even though my university was considered a reputable n so called top rank university, the status/quality wasn't always reflected in what we went through. During my time...we struggled with constant insufficient lecturers issue because the university(or faculty) was so busy sending lecturers overseas to do research papers to increase the ranking of university to care if the students were getting proper classes. anyway...in my university...if my memory serves me correct, you can get English related courses in Linguistic faculty, Education(TESL) or Arts(related to literature). if you go for TESL, more emphasis is put on teaching the subject, because it is assumed you are already excellent in the language although there are still several subjects on the language itself. i think the choices of English courses offered by each university can also differ from time to time...during my time, there was only one choice of English related course for this university. Also, if i may add, Artsy courses like language etc, that doesn't involve facts like science, maths, etc...is harder to score bcuz it's all about the impression you make, and lecturers' favoritism is unavoidable since there's no solid rubrics as arts is a more subjective n fluid. Well, good luck on making your choice.

Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia is offering one. Non-TESL English course. I am a former foundation student for that course.

Idk much about english courses but maybe you can try tesl (teaching english second language). You will learn on how to teach english and be a teacher or lecturer as your career. Hope its helping you & goodluck!
