Are you open to reading different things, or do you just stick to one thing?

For me, I only read fanfics of my bias groups (Teen Top and KNK), and I only read .
I was wondering if most people are picky like this or if most people are open minded and try new things often.
I've tried branching out before. Reading different groups and or straight fics. But I rarely make it past chapter 2. I might have completed 10 fanfics about different groups in the past 5 years, most of which were one-shots xD.

Story I read in the past:
-I read a YuGiOh story were the characters meet in a park and becames friends (friendship)
-A b.a.p story were each member meet a alien, that lead each of them to Seoul()
-Oc x exo member, were the two of them fall in love despite the backlash (straight)
At the end of the day, if a story have a good plot and a great deliverance it doesn't matter what group/ ship its about

Im picky. I only read SHINee and EXO. I don't read oc or het!ships but I do read genderbend so fem!EXO and GIRLee counts. I no longer read omegaverse stories and if the characters are stereotypical I leave the story as fast as possible. I'm also picky with grammar and such.... and it does actually make me frown a little if there's no diversity (as in - everybody is gay or everybody is boys or everybody is ... whatever) now.

I don't like EXO, BTS, got7, , angst or horror and I read only groups I've already listened to so yeah.

I'm slightly in between. I prefer reading more than anything else these days since most IDOLx OC het fics doesn't sit well with me that much, though if I was recommended a HET fic to read, I would read it if the foreword catches my attention. I mostly read seventeen, yunjae and exo stories in , but I have no problem reading a fic with other groups, so long as the plot interests me.

I love reading about groups I like, but I like it even more when it's a complete story without anyone I know. That way I really get to imagine and think about things. It's like watching a movie and falling in love with the characters lol. But I understand how you feel. I am a er for fanfics that include characters I like.

As long as I know the members, then I'll read it, and if it seems interesting to me. However, that's mostly for . Back in my early AFF years, I mostly read straight fics, and read whatever caught my interest. Now I mostly read and some yuri, with a dash of straight, and read from groups I'm familiar with, and like I said in the beginning, if I know all the members. There are groups I am not a very big fan of, but know all the members (for some odd reason) and read fanfics with them. I like to find new stuff to read, but I can still be picky. So I hope that answers your question.

Like you, I also tend to just stick to reading and my bias groups (ukiss and db5k). The reason being is that when I try branching out, though I recognize the name, I can never put a face to it since I don't really follow other groups (plus a lot of people seem to like switching between an idol's real name and stage name and that just confuses me even more) Also, most of the time, authors seem to put an insider joke that only if you're a fan you would understand and because of that I'm out of the loop and don't get the punchline so to speak. It's just easier for me to read about my bias groups even though sadly, there's a lack of fan fics about them.
