Shows everyone seem to love, but you hate?

Hate is a strong word, but hey, sometimes we just can't help the things we dislike, be it for valid reasons or not. What are some shows - be it dramas, reality shows, series, or anime - that a lot of people seem to love and enjoy, but you just can't stand?
Just got thinking about an anime I saw in a Youtube video a few minutes ago called Toradora, and thought back on the time I'd watched it. I was in high school at the time and some anime regulars claimed it was good, so that encouraged me enough to give the show a go. But goodness gracious, I could not stand the female protagonist, Taiga. She was portrayed to come across as a physically strong character with all those 'brawl' stunts she pulled throughout the show, but that honestly made her seem all the more 'try hard', in turn making it an aggravating thing to witness. Don't even get me started on the level of tsundere she's on. The show itself just seemed very unconvincing to me with the side characters, and even the main guy was just so bland and horrendously clueless which was just painful to watch.

Well, that's just one show I never got into and that a lot of people enjoyed, which is beyond me, haha. But I want to hear your stories. Go crazy commenting!

@damnationSUruck Everyone finds me so weird cause I don't like it! I watched a few episodes but I already knew it was not someting I would enjoy...

Most dramas are very cliché and some actors are just not good. I can count on my hand how many dramas I enjoyed, and it's like... Maybe two

@MYumeSekai I have!
Not sure if the 'asdfgh...' can be interpreted as excitement, but honestly, the first half of the movie was pretty incredible. The second half... not so much. I was quite disappointed with how the events resolved because a lot of it was borderline incomprehensible, what with time travel which is a very finicky element. I understand they had some great ideas and wanted to give this movie a fresh outlook, but the second half really didn't cut it for me. Pity because I so looked forward to a slice of life type of thing where Taki goes travelling to meet Mitsuha and they have a nice fluffy reunion, haha. Oh, wishful thinking.

@SunnyBunny023 I think I watched the first episode (or two), but the anime style really didn't draw me in, so I had stopped watching. Although I did hear that it fell short badly at some point, which is a bummer because like you mentioned, it had potential to be good.
And Kirito... I don't know. As a main I just didn't feel a sense of attachment at all from the beginning. Must be just me, lol, but yeah, that's my silly gripe with the show, haha.

@MissLalaMoon From all of these, I've only seen The Walking Dead, and I think I only kept watching because I wasn't watching it alone, haha. I watched the show with my 70-something year old aunt, so it's safe to say that was quite an experience XD She kept me thoroughly entertained and fangirling with her over Rick was a plus, LOL.
But feel free to share the books you don't like too! I'm so curious, haha.

@MyHeaven Game of Thrones, man, everyone seems to like this show! Although I'm probably not going to touch it because I just can't seem to find an interest in the idea. I'm quite sceptical when it comes to watching K-dramas because - like you mentioned - I know a few actors by face but the plots... I don't know. Some can turn out disappointing. OTZ

@sanglant Don't worry, I may agree with you here, haha. Although I barely tap into series, because there are so many, and the fact that they carry on for 3+ seasons is irksome, somewhat. Why can't they just do one or two seasons and call it quits with a definite ending? Oh well.

@tumbleweed Same, lol. And thinking back on it, I've no idea how I managed to sit through the show because Taiga was just... OTZ. Unbearable.

@damnationSUruck I thought i was the only one too! Yeah, he was able to act well for the part, but he just didn't look the part. At least not completely

@damnationSUruck I never read the webcomic, so anything I say is relating to the drama, and entirely my opinion. It was very slow-paced with little-to-no plot going on. I've watched many, many dramas, so perhaps that's where my view of that comes from though. Either way, I gave it up after watching three episodes. Just didn't hold my interest, unfortunately!

@samasbananas I thought I was the only one imagining this. He did look rather old for the role, albeit he may have looked like Jung did in the comic, but there were signs of his age that undeniably showed through and was overall unconvincing to me. Nonetheless, he played the part well in terms of character and Jung's overall mannerisms.

@lumienarc Like _Roxas_ mentioned, I also didn't pick up on much of these BL suggestions in KNB, but I did try my hand at Free, and that definitely gave off some of those vibes. Not a fan of it, but like you said, if it lures in the female audience, their gain, haha.

I haven't seen Goblin - certainly heard about it though around the net - but that does sound strange. Lol, I also tend to lose interest in shows/books/anything in general when things don't add up and there are some very silly creations for loopholes and skepticism that otherwise could have been avoided.
I've heard of Clannad too; never really got down to seeing it though. But from what's Google has presented me under images, I think I'm way past the point of those big googly anime eyes //shudder. Also checked out Killing Stalking, and man, I'm not surprised fans do this. It's quite a common mentality to quickly associate serious issues in fiction with romance. Kind of sad, really. Even sadder when the author/artist straight up lets this happen in the work.

@damnationSUruck To be completely honest, I've never liked any of the dramas this particular screen writer does, even though I've tried lots of them in the hopes that I will. The pitch between the main characters in The Heirs was completely off. Some people have put it down to casting, which probably did damage it, but the actual main plot between the two main characters was really, really dull. I did admittedly enjoy the side characters and they were the only reason I continued watching the show because I cared about them much more than I cared about any of the three main characters. (In fact, the only character in the love triangle that I cared about at all was Tan when it came to his relationship with his big brother. That was literally it.)

@--Skye-- I actually never perceived KNB as q*eerbait before, lol, so this comment was quite interesting. XD
Haven't seen the volleyball one, but I have tried Free, and I will agree that this definitely has some low key BL themes. Well, that's how it came across to me anyway.

@marquis Cheese In The Trap!
I actually started off reading the web comic a few years ago (I think 2013 something? I could be mistaken), and that was quite promising. I probably enjoyed it a lot for the art, and Seul being a realistic character for something fictional had me interested. The drama... I don't know. I saw a few episodes and it was alright, but then again, I haven't seen too many K-dramas in my time, so I'm not one to judge, haha. Any particular things you disliked about it though? Don't be afraid to share.

@Korekrypta Ah, I've heard of this one. Pretty sure Taemin makes a guest appearance in it, but I could be mistaken, haha. Any particular reasons for not liking it? Feel free to share!

@_Roxas_ Ah, don't think I've seen any of those. But I just checked out the premises on Google, and you're right. The plots are captivating! A shame they didn't execute them well as you say.

I loved loved loveeed Reply 1997 but couldnt stand to watch the ehole first episode of reply 1994 I literwlly couldnt. It was like they looked at the first show and say "hmm people seem to like it when our characters scream and the main girl is a stalker so lets make everyone scream more and the main girl can be in the line that geting into jail from stalking much"
Cant say the same thing about Reply 1988 tho apparently that was a hit and I didnt watch it, is it like 1994? Should I watch it?

Well i think the most recent one is goblin lol
I watched two episodes and
A. The main characters are annoying (esp the main female character)
B. The editing??? Like what's up with the frantic jump cuts?
C. I accidentally watched the where the goblin killed the ghost and it's so anticlimatic it's sad (in a pathetic way). I watched it with my friend and my reaction was just 'that's it?'

I have one for western movie... la la land
I dont HATE IT hate it, but the more i think about it, the more meh it is.

Kdrama version is You're Beautiful and Boys Over Flowers. In BOF, it's because the main couple were so annoyingly toxic that I just COULD NOT be bothered. You're Beautiful- legit anything with PSH. I don't know...something about her acting irritates the hell out of me. It looks so forced and fake. Nothing against the woman, but her acting isn't as good as people claim.

I was personally disappointed with Sword Art Online. That anime had so much potential. The premise of the story is amazing(the fact that its set in an MMO, or an VRMMORPG to be exact, already had me thrilled) and I loved the idea of having to clear each floor boss in order to "log out" of the game, coupled with the fact that an in-game death equates to a real-life death. But then I had my gripe when the story veered in the romance direction. I don't want to spoil much so I'll leave it at that.

@_Roxas_ There are translated chapters done by grimmfeather on tumblr. My favourite chapter is that about a peaceful morning in Izuki's house. That one is hilarious. Have you watched the NG-shuu episodes and the fandisk dramas? Everything is funny, especially the Teikou School Festival part. XD I love KnB hence I gather everything official (including the character songs!)

Boys over flowes, the heirs, pretty much anything with Lee Min Ho (he's okay, but his dramas are not). NSCI, the walking dead (like it's okay, but I don't care for it), um most of the top rated k-dramas really. I wish this was about books because I have so MANY, lol.

Perhaps Game of Thrones if we're speaking of non k-related shows. Other than that I guess nearly every k-drama I've seen (just don't get the hype tbh, only thing interesting is perhaps the actors/actresses)
