@experimentallyexotic I actually don't think it's rude at all. Everyone has their own taste and opinion and not everyone is bound to like the story. It's something normal and I would prefer someone checking out the story and not liking it in the end than have someone pass by the story without giving it a chance because it's on subscribers-only. Besides, I think it would be somehow nice to have readers who unsubscribe leave a comment what they didn't like and made them unsubscribe. That way the author gets the needed and wanted criticism.

@AceJulie That just feels so rude to me. Subscribe and then immediately unsubscribe? That's basically telling the author point-blank "I don't like your story/Your story is bad". If someone did that to me I'd feel pretty hurt so I'd rather not do it to someone else.

@experimentallyexotic You still can unsubscribe after checking out the story though? o:

I noticed you made it 'subscribers only'. I'm not sure about other people, but at least for me (and from what I've heard it is true for a lot of others) that actually makes me less likely to subscribe, no matter how good it sounds. If I can't look at a story first to see if I actually like it then I'll just move on to one that I can check first. I don't like subscribing to stories without first knowing if I'll actually enjoy the content.

Tips from me:
1) Make sure your description is interesting! Don't make it sound vague. Make it very captivating to the point that your readers would be like "oh gosh! i need to know more!"
2) PLEASE TRY TO AVOID ANY GRAMMAR MISTAKES! I know it's hard to avoid but trust me, if you really want readers, try to avoid any mistakes just in the description cause you really need to have a good first impression. Some readers can be very sensitive when it comes to bad grammar.
3) Say, you can't avoid grammar mistakes then get a beta-reader! or someone who is willing to check your grammar/vocab or spelling in that matter :)
4) I know i've been pointing out to avoid mistakes but my last tip, do make mistakes. It's your first every story right? Making mistakes is okay. Learn from it and don't repeat it! It's okay if you don't have that much readers cause by the end of the day, you're writing what YOU want not what the reader wants :)

good luck!!!

@InfinityGirl Yes I put my story on subs only tag. I'll have to consider again about your first suggestion. I have already promoted my story through wall to wall so i guess I'll be continue doing so. I'll definitely try your third suggestion! Thank you so much for your kind words and cool suggestions!!! :))))

You can always promote it. Not every good story on here ever gets the recognition it deserve until much later on. If your story is good, people will check it out as you continue to update it. Here's an advice though, if your story is a chaptered story then make sure you update frequently. A lot of authors tend to lose readers when they do not update often or more than enough. Also writing OCs are tricky, make sure your OC is relatable and realistic. No one likes a Mary Sue or a stuck up brat.

Make sure you read because you enjoy it, not to steal their storyline. "To improve my storyline" sounds suspicious to me so I just want to say that this is /your/ story and you can make whatever storyline you want. And that it's okay.

ok, is your story on 'subscribers only' tag?
If yes, then you better remove it. You can apply that back when your story is stable (about 5-10 chapters) because some readers won't bother subscribing unless the story is worth reading.

Promoting can be done by requesting from advertisement shop (This will cost you KPs) or you can promote your story wall to wall/ create blogpost but that requires effort.

Send in request for review shops to help you correct your mistakes and give comments about your work. This helps improving your work :D
