Prologue

It was really quite funny how death can change a person's whole perspective, and it was only now that he realized just what an he'd been. 

He didn't give a single back then.

Wait.

That wasn't completely right. 

It was just that he didn't give out much, which wasn't all that better really. 

He was a popular boy. Handsome, smart, rich and a heartthrob. He didn't give that much care in the world. He took for granted the girls - and sometimes guys - who liked him. 

He treated her just like everyone else. Sure, he sometimes entertained the idea of courting her. She was smart and kind, the kindest girl he had ever met, really. She was pretty too, and she wasn't stupid or that self-conscious to be ignorant of that fact. That good thing was that she knew that she wasn't the prettiest girl out there. She knew that but she simply didn't care. 

The best thing about her was that she knew he knew that she liked him, but she acted so normal around him that it was so easy to forget that little fact.

He could even say that she was one of the very few people he felt comfortable with, maybe because of the fact that he had grown used to her presence by seating next to her everyday.

They shared some sort of silent agreement.

And all that was before died and left their freaking lives in a mess similar to the aftermath of a typhoon.

He would have mourned right along with them, because even though they weren't that close, she was still his friend.

He would have.

If only he didn't come home that night that service ended and saw her form sitting on his bed.

Damn it all to hell.

Even after death, she still liked him.
