Please Help Me? (Calling All Authors and Readers)

So I'm thinking of moving all of my stories to another website, but I'm not sure where.

I'm thinking of moving to Wattpad, but I want to know if there's any other websites that are good alternatives.

And then on with the juicy stuff: a review of most of my stories.

I have nothing to do this summer and I want to go back to all of my old stories and edit all of it. I'm also thinking of not writing fan-fiction anymore, but rather, using characters that I've designed myself. I feel a lot of my stories are 'restricted' in a sense, because I write based on a person that I sort of know, rather than someone I create from scratch.

I want to move all of my stories to another website while I'm at it because I feel so intimidated writing here on this website and I feel like I'm not 'good' enough. I also don't think my stories appeal much anyways or even attract an audience and I don't like promoting my stories because I just feel that if your stories are okay, then people will promote it for you. I want an environment that has authors that makes me want to improve and at the same time, it's not a competition to see who gets the most subscribers, votes, etc.

I don't get much comments even though I do know there's a lot to comment on like: "Hey, what the hell happened to that guy?" but no one ever asks or comments, so I don't know what to improve on.

Some of my stories, for example, possibly have the worst grammar, spelling, plot line, etc. but they're the ones with the most subscribers. The stories I spend more time on, however, have the least subscribers.

Take My Violent, Arrogant Princess for example and It All Began In An Elevator... Sort Of. The plotline for My Violent, Arrogant Princess is all over the place. I've read it again just a few days ago and I'm even wondering what the hell I've written there. There are just some things that were never explained and there were too many time jumps. My capitalization is all over the place and the dialogue is just really pointless for the most part. The characters just never seem to grow up (which may be the case for some people, I guess), but the characters that were more mature didn't have any depth to them. It All Began In An Elevator... Sort Of was lacking in a lot of things and one of them was definitely the emotions and the development of the characters. Sungyeol and the OC just sort of magically began liking each other. The chapter lengths are a joke now that I look back on it. These two stories are definitely my first two stories on the 'must rewrite' list.

Though it's not much of a feat, both stories have about 60+ subscribers, the most I've ever gotten for any story.

On the other hand, there's Phantom and The Lamenting Seasons. I think I spent the most planning on those two stories out of all of my stories. The other stories, aside from The Starry Night, were stories that were written without much planning. I didn't even know what I was going to expect at the end of the story. The Starry Night was written a few years ago for an assignment, which probably explains the quality and the effort put into it. Phantom was a rather boring story in my eyes, so I do recognize why there isn't much attention given to it. It was an experimental story used to gauge what I should improve on and whatnot because I'm currently writing a mystery story that is supposed to be more engaging. The Lamenting Seasons was a fantasy, moral-based story. As far as it goes, I think the fantasy element was poorly executed, so it may be a factor as to why it's not receiving much attention. I believe the time intervals were too big between the scenes and Dongwoo and Sunggyu didn't really have the time to 'know' each other before loving each other. But all in all, the three stories mentioned here in this paragraph are probably more mature and better in content than the two stories mentioned in one of the previous paragraphs.

As far as it goes, I've experienced what it's like to be plagiarized (direct copy and paste is a big deal for me. If it was just plotline then whatever, because stories aren't original for the most part anyways). It was definitely stressful and I cannot even comprehend why the story (and one of its sequels) was even stolen to begin with and how it was even nominated for an award on Wattpad. The story was lacking in content. It was probably one of the worst stories I have ever written in my whole life. The Story of Us, The Story I Didn't Know, and The Story of Happily Ever. If anything, I would say that it would be best if I removed their existence from this site. HOWEVER, I do realize that the person who initially took it and published it on Wattpad probably has another copy somewhere, so I'm just going to keep this story up on this site until whenever. I haven't had the time lately to go around looking to see if someone has been taking my stories (for whatever reason they may have) but once my vacation starts, I'm going to find you somehow, somewhere, so you should probably remove it while I don't have time to report you. Yea I'm a creep like that.

The rest of the stories, which I am way too lazy to review, are definitely lacking, but it's a bit better in content than the stories I've mentioned and completely abhor for the most part. I'm rewriting all of them regardless of how many subscribers any of them have and I'm still deciding whether to correct them directly here on the website or correct them and post the edited stories elsewhere.

Wow. That was a long essay. I was planning to study today too... ERGH. But anyways, I'm probably going to be lurking around. Please PM me, message me on the wall, comment here. I need an alternative website.

EDIT:

I'm moving to Quotev, though I did make a Wattpad account, which I have come to realize I have no idea how to use.

For now, I'm on hiatus for both sites (Quotev and AFF) but I'll be lurking and answering everyone's comments, PMs, etc. on AFF.

I'll still be around after I successfully rewrite all of my stories onto my Quotev account, but I won't be posting stories with this account.

I will be:

-Lurking and talking to others

-Opening a review shop this summer with my best buddies~

-Probably opening a Korean workshop, where I'll teach phrases and basic, common sentence structures OR a Chinese workshop depending on what I feel like doing OR maybe both

-Probably co-author if you ask, but it'll be posted with your account

-Accepting one-shot requests but they'll (unfortunately) be posted on Quotev or I might open a single thread for all of them

I haven't read any of your stories because I actually don't read much here, hehe, but based on this post, I can see that you're definitely a good writer. I also know how you feel about the stories getting featured here being the ones with cliche plots and tons of grammatical errors. Believe me, I've rant about it for 2 sentences in a blog post and I was asked to remove it by a mod. Since I started writing here, it's been my dream to have my story featured but getting subscribers isn't that easy. 60+ subscribers is already something, if you would ask me. I also planned to move to wattpad before (I also posted a blog about it) but I decided to stay because I thought that I can't leave my readers. Dramatic as it sounds, but that's how I felt. I've started to have this bond with the people here that I can't leave. I may not be close to my readers, but their words really inspire me.

However, I also tried wattpad, but it was an account run by me and my friends. We created that because we we're writing stories in our own language which wouldn't work here. First off, I think it's pretty hard to start a reputation again. I mean, people wouldn't pay much attention to us there because we're new, and for some reason, I think stories that are already finished appeals more to them. If they like the idea of you're story, they're just going to put it on their reading list and will only go back to it when you're able to write tins of chaps. It didn't work for me in wattpad. I just can't write that good without the readers' or even just a reader's encouragement. Plus, fan fics about kpop idols do not seem to be as popular there as it is here because 1D fan fics are the most liked. But if you'd like to write something with original characters, it might work for you there. Also, just a thought, I think stories that are updated quickly get much subscribers here. I really like this site a lot and I hope you stay :))) I just think that you're readers would be really sad if you leave.

I personally think the stories I've read from you are excellent. My favorite is The Lamenting Seasons though <3
Anyways, everyone has different styles of writing, and I think yours is really good. And the plot lines (from the ones I've read at least) aren't very cliche (if at all). That's something special. Very special.

Well, if you're leaving... /sobs/ Tell me when you write another story or move your fics to wattpad or whatever. I might make an account and stalk you (okay not really but still).
I heard livejournal is really good too btw. I've never tried using it though .-.

Exactly, you're not a bad writer.
We all feel that way. And a story with 60 subscribers is not bad at all. But the thing is that AFF is that kind of place where a person needs to be for a few months to understand how it works and how to get more subscribers etc.

You're stories aren't bad. In fact, how many subscribers you have doesn't make you a better writer, if you have 300 subscribers, it doesn't make you a better writer. And having less subscriber doesn't make you a bad writer. It just means there are people around who like it, there are thousands of other people yet to discover it.

If you want, let's do a story together :) even I have my vacations left. Plus. it'll be fun! :) we can combine two story ideas! :)

You're not 'not good enough' :c
