Why would you like to apply? — I absolutely love the Percy Jackson series and The Heroes of Olympus. Actually, I read 

The Heroes of Olympus before I read the Percy Jackson series - my favorite OTP is Piper/Jason. Greek mythology is also 

one of my interests. Another reason why I'm applying is that I've been trying to find an interesting EXO apply fic, and 

this just caught my eye.

Personality — 

silent, but deadly - Jaekyung is the quiet and introverted type of person. She doesn't speak much to others and likes

to keep things to herself. She is the type of person who would rather be alone while working on an invention or

reading a book. But if you ask anybody that knows her, they'll say her silence can be quite intimidating. You never

know what's going on in that bright  mind of hers. 

fight fire with fire - A trait that makes people seem scared of Jaekyung is her vengefulness. Despite her

introvertedness, she has a side that she only shows toward people that annoy her to death. Most times, Jaekyung will

ignore people when they annoy her, but once it gets to a point where she might blow up, she will show no mercy.

Even though she is known for using her latest inventions to get revenge on her opponents, you should never

underestimate her skills in sword-fighting and using her bare hands and feet.

one smart cookie - For a inventor like Jaekyung, you would probably guess that she is very intelligent, especially in

mathematics, science, and art. She's one of the lucky demigods who doesn't have dyslexia or any other disorder that

would affect her learning abilities. Most of her teachers would say that she is a remarkable student, even though she

has problems with getting along with other people. You can just call her a gifted learner/inventor. Ever since she was

little, she loved working with tools and gadgets. It was one of her hobbies to examine things and find out how they

work. If you give her a pile of junk, she could probably make something useful out it.  

the sour apple in the basket - Another negative characteristic about her is her bitterness. Jaekyung does not get along

well with others at all. It's really hard for her to approach people because she'll end up scaring them away anyways

with her intimidating looks and monotone voice. Her actions aren't the only thing she does to get revenge on people

though. Jaekyung is also really good at making comebacks that will leave you speechless. It's kind of a shocking fact

about her because she is known as the quiet girl. She doesn't try to be like that on purpose. It's a 'gift' of being a daughter of Hephaestus. 

i fly solo - The last thing you should know about Jaekyung is that she is very headstrong and independent. Her

determination in doing things by herself and accomplishing her goals is quite amazing. No matter how long it will take,

Jaekyung will never give up until she is satisfied with her achievements.  Her expectations for herself are very high,

and she thinks that she has to meet them without the help of her friends and family. Jaekyung just has a feeling that she

can't burden others with her problems, and that she would much rather have everyone be dependent on her. She

likes to help the others around her and be the shoulder people can lean on, even if most people see her as quiet

and intimidating. But the things people say about her don't hurt her. She knows who she truly is, so the way people

judge her never really affect her deep down.

Family Background — Jaekyung's mother, Jaeri, and Hephaestus met at the bakery she was working at. It was a cold

winter day, and Hephaestus came in to get something warm to drink (although he really didn't need it since he could

just warm himself up). Jaeri took his order for one cup of coffee. Since she had just started working there, she

didn't know how to work the coffee maker. Hephaestus offered her his help and she hesitantly obliged. When he was

helping her, their hands coincidentally touched, and when theyr met each other's gaze, Jaeri couldn't help but feel

mesmerized by his alluring charcoal colored eyes.  Hephaestus also felt a warm feeling when he touched her. And at

that very moment, the two fell in love. They were together for about a year, and during that short period of time, the

two shared great memories together. Hephaestus had even trusted Jaeri enough to share his true identity with her. But

once Jaeri was announced to be pregnant, Hephaestus suddenly disappeared and was never seen again.

Jaekyung actually grew up knowing who her father was. Her mother didn't have the heart to keep the secret from

her. Jaeri told her daughter about Hephaestus when Jaekyung was 8 years old. That was also the year when Jaeri

adopted Minjun and when Jaekyung found out her ability to control fire and emit it from her hands. Minjun was

adopted for the sake of Jaekyung's safety. His scent masked Jaekyung's demigod scent from the monsters who wanted

to take her.  Jaekyung's reaction to the news about her father and her inhuman abilities was quite shocking to her

mother. Jaeri thought that Jaekyung would grow a feeling of hatred toward Hephaestus for leaving them and herself

for being so different from the others. But Jaekyung was calm about the new knowledge and didn't care. She loved

her mother a lot, so she thought that for the sake of her mother, things shouldn't change.

Her first encounter with a monster was in Ulsan, South Korea when she was 9 years old. Jaeri was taking Jaekyung to

her first day of school of the new school year. A Fury had swept in and tried to snatch Jaekyung from her mother's

grasp. But in the nick of time, Jaekyung emitted fire from her hands without much effort. This shocked the Fury, so

Jaeri was able to take her daughter and run away as quickly as she could. Once they got home, they packed

everything up and moved to Seoul.

In the next 4 years of her life, Jaekyung had been cautious about where she went and what she did in  hopes of not

running into another monster. One incident was terrifying enough for her. And much to her relief, nothing bad

happened to her or her family. Jaeri had also opened up her own bakery called JaeJu Bakery in Seoul. Everyday, she

was reminded of the day she met Hephaestus. She still had a yearning heart for him, but she knew he would never

come back.

Jaekyung was 13 years old at the time. Business was booming in her mother's bakery, so she had to help out a lot. One

day, she went to get some stuff for her mother at a local store. As she was walking back to the bakery, Jaekyung felt a

presence behind her. It turned out that an old lady had been following her. She was a bit creeped out by that, so she

started to walk faster. After a minute, she looked back, but didn't see the woman. But when she turned back around,

the face of a Fury greeted her. She started to run the other way, but the fury caught up with her and grabbed her by

her jacket. For the past years, Jaekyung had been practicing on controlling her fire abilities. Her fire powers didn't

really do much to the fury, so Jaekyung started to lose hope. Just then, two other teens with swords came out of

nowhere (more like the ally). The teenage girl sliced the head of the fury and it immediately turned to dust. Jaekyung

thanked the two teens and cautiously asked if they were demigods too. The two, Amber and Jongup, replied to her

with eager nods. After that encounter, Jaekyung took the two back to her mother's bakery. Jongup and Amber told

Jaeri and Jaekyung about Camp Olympus and stated how much safer it would be for Jaekyung to go there now that she

was a bit older. They were hesitant at first, but they both knew it was for the safety of their family. So in a few days

time, Jaekyung was off to Camp Olympus with Jongup and Amber.

Jaekyun now has been at Camp Olympus for three years. During those three years, she learned how to fight and

control her fire abilities even more. She also learned more about making inventions with the help of her half-siblings in

the Hephaestus cabin. She made a couple of friends, but most people were intimidated by her and wouldn't dare go

near her. This didn't really bother Jaekyung, but she still had a small feeling of loneliness whenever Jongup or Amber

wouldn't be around, since those were her only close friends. So Jaekyung would spend most of her free time in her

cabin making things or taking walks outside in the woods. She was happy with her life now, but she still missed her

mother and little brother. It's not like she could see them everyday. Actually, they only saw each other about once or

twice a month.

sweaters with jeans or shorts. Underneath her sweaters or button-ups, she likes to wear t-shirts with a simple pattern 

or maybe an anime-themed one. As for footwear, you will usually see her wearing her favorite pair of black Converse 

high tops. Her style is also defined as conservative and modest. She doesn't like to show off the shape of her body, so 

she tries not to find loose clothing that sticks to her skin. 

Exra Accessories? — She always wears a red and black leather bracelet that her mother gave her when she was born.

Godly parent and why is he/she your godly parent — Hephaestus 

Traits you posses from them — Able to control fire, her vengefulness and bitterness, her sharp tongue. Jaekyung also

inherited his charcoal colored eyes.

How were you found? — Jaekyung was found by her fellow campers - She was on her way back to her mother's

bakery one day, and suddenly an old lady started following her. Jaekyung had an eerie feeling about the lady, so she

started to walk faster. After a minute, she looked behind herself to see if the lady was still there, but she wasn't. Then

when Jaekyung turned back around, the face of a Fury was right in front her! Jaekyung was shocked at first, but she

acted quick enough to dodge the deadly talons of the Fury. When she was losing all of her hope against the monster,

two demigods from Camp Olympus saved her, much to Jaekyung's relief. Those two campers were Amber Liu and Moon

Jongup. The three of them ended up becoming friends at Camp Olympus as well.  

What are your biggest flaws? — Jaekyung is not able to work well with others, unless they are helping her with a big

invention. She is horrible at pegasus flying and rope climbing due to her fear of heights. Her quiet personality stops her

from sharing her ideas on things, so she always does her own thing and waits for others to ask her about what she's

doing. 

What are your greatest attributes? — She is really good at sword-fighting and using her hands and legs during a fight.

Jaekyung is great at making up new tactics against enemies and using her inventions against them. She is also

hardworking so it is easy for her to do a lot of work in one day and multi-task as well.

Who is your least favorite Greek god/goddess and why? — Hera is her least favorite goddess because Hera is the mother

of Hephaestus and was the one who threw Hephaestus into the sea. So of course Jaekyung would be a little mad at

the goddess. Like father like daughter, right?

If you would face a hydra, what would you do? — If Jaekyung faced a hydra, she would use on of her inventions

agianst it, possibly an invention that would help cut the heads off of the hydra and then seal the stumps closed, so they

its heads wouldn't grow back. (Based on how Hercules killed the hydra)

Love Interest — Zhang Yixing 'Lay'

Age & Birthdate — 17 :: october 7, 1995 

Godly Parent — Apollo

Relationship — aquaintances who admire each other from afar - They've talked to each other a couple of times and

they've partnered up one or twice in camp activites, but they've never been close friends. Jaekyung admires his

friendly and outgoing personality, and is quite envious of it. On the other hand, Yixing is fascinated by her love for

making all those gadgets and gizmos and her bright-mindedness. He doesn't think of her silence as intimidating, but as a

wall that hides the real her. 

Personality — Yixing is a fun-loving and outgoing guy. He likes to joke around and doesn't take anything very seriously.

Most of his jokes are kind of corny, but they make people laugh anyways. He can be defined as a curious cat because

he is always thinking about the most randomest things and why things are the way they are. Sometimes he talks to

himself, which makes people look at him like he's crazy. But other than that, he is well liked by all the campers and

directors. He is really easy to get alonf with due to his friendly and happy-go-lucky personality. Yixing is also very

talented in music. People always say that he has the voice of an angel and the hands of a god (due to his guitar skills).

 

Back-Up Love Interest — Kim Jongdae 'Chen'

Age & Birthdate — 16 :: september 21, 1996

Godly Parent — Hermes

Relationship — rivals in almost everything - They are both sharp-tongued and headstrong, so they would always

compete in who would be the best in all camp activities. They also like to tease each other a lot. It's not like they hate

each other or anything, they just have a friendly rivalry. 

Personality — Jongdae is the most arrogant guy Jaekyung had ever met. With his snarky comments and annoying

sarcasm, it's really hard to not get mad at him. He is quite prideful and selfish too. Don't be surprised if you ever hear

him complimenting himself. But he has a reason behind his self-centeredness. Most people don't really pay attention to

the son of the messenger, which is why he became a sneaky prick who could take anything from somebody without

them noticing. Don't worry though, he'll give it back sooner or later...maybe. 

 

↷m o r t a l  l i f e 

Family — 

- mother | Han Jaeri | 43 | owner of JaeJu Bakery | All throughout her life, Jaekyung has always taken care of her

mother and vice versa. Just by the way they act around each other, you can tell that they love each other a lot. The

two hardly ever fight, but that's because both of them have learned to understand each other. Jaekyung is always

helping her mother in any way possible. She just wants her mother to be stress free even if that means putting more

stress on herself. | Jaeri is a kind and caring woman who is hardworking and responsible. Being a single mother, she

learned how to be an independent person. She is also very stubborn and strong. Since she knows about her daughter

being a demigod, she is always trying to keep Jaekyung safe, which is why she can be defined as protective as well.

- adoptive younger brother | Han Min Jun 'Juju' | 6 | elementary school student | Although they aren't real siblings, 

Jaekyung treats him as her own little brother -  more like son if you ask me. She is a worry-wart when it comes to Min

Jun. Min Jun loves his noona a lot. When he isn't at school, he'll be attached at her hip. They are inseparable. | Min Jun

is a crazy and playful little boy who likes to run around a lot. He gets hurt often, but he always brushes off the pain

away and starts to play again. You can say that he is a very stubborn and tough kid. He is also quite smart for his age.

With the help of his older sister and mtoher, he became a well-mannered boy (when he isn't being a crazy 6 year old)

who likes to help others.

 

Friends — 

- Moon Jongup | 17 | no job / camper at Camp Olympus| Hephaestus | Since they are half-siblings, they can kind of

relate to each other in cases that include making things, but other than that, they are quite the opposite. Once they

really got to know each other, that's when they started acting like real siblings. Even though they are only a year

apart, Jongup acts like how a real older brother should act around his younger sister. He likes to protect her even

when she doesn't want him to, and he teases her quite often.  | Unlike the other Hephaestus children, Jongup is on the

more easygoing side. He is really down- to-earth and cares dearly for the people who are close to him. But the traits he

inherited from Hephaestus are his love for making things, his bright-mindedness, and his sharp tongue, which he only

uses on some occasions, like if he needs to defend himself or his friends. Jongup is also a tough guy with his muscular

build and skillful hands, that he uses in both builiding and fighting.

- Amber Liu | 16 | camper at Camp Olympus /no job | Athena | They first met when Amber saved Jaekyung from the

Fury, and since then, they've become great friends. A reason is because of their personalities. Both girls are

independent, smart, and strong. Together, they make a great team in making up plans against their opponents. If you

are the victim of the two girls put together, you have no chance of winning. | Amber is a headstrong and tough chick.

The stubborn girl always likes to challenge herself by never giving up without a fight. She is also very wise and use the

power of words against you with her sarcasm and mind-boggling vocabulary. On the other hand, Amber is also very

responsible and loyal. She is a great friend to have when she really trusts you. 

 

Rival — Kim Kibum 'Key'

Why are you rivals — They both share the quality of having bitterness in their words, so they use this to go against each

other in an all out verbal war. Key also says that he is better than her in everything, which isn't really true. Whenever

they go against each other in battle, it gets really ugly. Most times Jaekyung wins, but that's because she is more on the

tougher side than than her diva-like opponent. Key is also quite strong, but he usually gives up because he doesn't

want to risk the chance of breaking his pretty face. In the end of every fight, Key always teases Jaekyung about being

too manly, but Jaekyung always makes a comeback about his girlish personality as well. 

Relationship — Enemies in everything who hate each other's guts (Reasons are in the section above)

How did you become rivals — When Jaekyung arrived at the camp, Key was already up in her face, commenting on

everything about her - from her clothes to her personality. He underestimated her and thought that she would be a

weakling due to her quiet aura. But Jaekyung's cold glares stated otherwise. Once Key finished his judgments on her,

Jaekyung defended herself and started to talk back to the diva-like boy. This was the start of a rivalry between two

sharp-tongued and headstrong demigods.

↷l e t ' s  s t a r t  t h i s  q u e s t

Comments/Suggestions — Sorry for being a bit late and if my personality was the most un-unique and boring thing you've

read. I haven't done an application for anything in a long time because I always lose hope in myself, so I really don't

know if this application is even decent. You could probably tell where I stopped working as hard in some areas. Also, if

I have a lot of spelling or grammar errors, it's probably because I didn't take the time to really check to make sure since

I really wanted to turn this in on time. 

Scene Requests — This is a scene when Jaekyung and Yixing (if this will be her chosen love interest) already like each

other - Jaekyung gets mad at him for breaking one of her newest inventions that could help with a quest, so she stops

talking to him for awhile. To make it up to her, Yixing serenades her in the star-filled and moonlit sky right in front of

her whole cabin, which emabrasses her and makes her blush. In the end, she forgives him. 

If Jongdae is her love interest - Jaekyung and Jongdae are against each other in battle training. Jongdae starts to tease

her by saying that she was a wimp and couldn't hurt him one bit. Being the vindictive girl she is, Jaekyung makes a

crude comment about him as well. The teacher tells them to save their energy for battle. They do, and it's like World

War III started between the duo. Nonstop sword clashing and battle grunts for what seemed like hours.
