Just thought I'd share some of my thoughts on KBS 'The Unit' because...well...why not? It's all I watch (besides Sungyeol's drama) these days anywho. 

At first, I watched the show for JOO. I watched clips of JOO and her teams' performances on youtube but I never saw a whole episode. Finally, I jumped into episode 4 or 5 randomly and before I knew it I was losing sleep watching five or six episodes in one sitting >_< While watching the episodes, I recognized a lot of faces I didn't even know were in 'The Unit'. Particularly Rokhyun and Hyukjin from 100% and Ajax Seungjin and Junghee surprised me. Before I started watching, I heard that Bigstar, ToppDogg, Madtown, Myname, Imfact, and a few others would be in it. But 100% and Ajax just...shocked me (I can't believe Jonghwan didn't make the cut). It was nice to see Teen Top Ricky and Andy supporting them on the show though <3 I'm glad Rokhyun is getting recognition for his voice. 

Thanks to JOO, I got to see many familiar faces and it felt so good to know and remember their names and groups. But what's better is that I got to learn about another handful of talents that have been abandoned and ignored. 

U-Kiss. I've followed U-Kiss since they released 'Believe'. Honestly, it was only after I watched the Thai-Korean mix drama Alex and Kibum was in that I looked them up and found U-Kiss. But after they stopped promoting (or maybe the media just wasn't talking about them) I started to lose touch with them. I'd watch their comebacks now and then but it was never right after it was released. Then I heard Dongho left. Then AJ (surprisingly, he tried to join 'The Unit' which was interesting since Jun got a super boot. I thought we'd get to see them together). Then I heard they gained a new member but I never paid attention to who it was since U-Kiss just fell out of my radar. And suddenly Eli shared that he's been married and is becoming a daddy. Then they came back with 'Stalker' which got my attention again. Yet, that one new member was amiss. Possibly due to his lack of screentime in 'Stalker' and even during their live performances. But seeing and hearing about a U-Kiss Jun just...made me feel guilty. Jun is so talented; dance, rap, vocal, stage presence, visual, and personality he has it all. And perhaps because he's around older members all the time, he's very mature for his age. Looks alone I thought he was my age but he was a lot younger. Jun has been with U-Kiss for so long and I'm very sorry that I couldn't give him and the rest of U-Kiss the same love and support I used to. I'll start again, I promise. 

Yang Jiwon. Spica disbanding is one of my major disappointment in the K-pop community. How could we let such a powerful vocal group flunk? I get that Spica was a lot older than most girl groups, but how could we dismiss their gifted voices? Just how?

Madtown - personally I have heard two or three of their songs but never had the pleasure to learn the members' faces and names. Another regret of mine. Lee Geon and Daewon are doing very well on the show. The fact that they both made it into the top 18 was great news in itself. But how is our vocalist Lee Geon in 17th place? It will be a very big jump but I hope a miracle happens and Lee Geo makes it into the top 9 and debut with the group. Even if that means my bae Hojung has to fill in 17th place.... I just hope Geon makes it. Then again, if he's on a roll he might change again and I'd rather he not xD I love Daewon. He's one of the show's angels as we have many and he's great with creating choreography and dancing in general. But do I want him in the top 9? Yes. But do I want him in the official debut group? Not really. I know that's not how it works...it's just...he's so humble to the point that I wouldn't mind if he makes it and once again Ko Hojung takes last place xD

Myname: Seyong.... It's a bit sad that because of his experience in the music and acting industry that viewers misunderstood him. Seyong isn't dull or mean, he's just older and probably so numb/used to it all. If you follow Myname, you'll know Seyong is outspoken yet he really cares for those around him. It's heartbreaking that 'The Unit' is his only chance to promote more in his own country. It's too bad s couldn't join him in the finale competition but I'm sure Seyong is making them proud being placed in the top 9. 

Groups that I have heard but never listened to or really watched: Hotshot, A.cian, A.C.E, I.M., Bigflo, Brave Girls, Melody Day, Good Day, and some others. 

Hotshot - I'll just say I'm in love with Ko Hojung. I love how hyper and friendly the guys are but Hojung is just...super chill and to himself. I mean it seems like he gets along well with the other guys (especially the other quiet of the group Ji Hansol) but it's somewhat sweet that his only rival is his group member Timoteo. I'm just happy that he placed third this previous episode and that assures me that he'll most likely make the official group with Timoteo. 

A.cian and Bigflo - the reason I grouped A.cian and Bigflo together is because if you've watched the show, you'd know Euijin is from Bigflo. And maybe you'd also know he used to be part of A.cian. Euijin has jumped up a lot and with every episode, he continues to prove himself worthy of the first and second place (darn that Jun keeps getting in his way >_<). I wished there were cuts of Euijin interacting with Jungsang and Jin.O though. Our poor Jin.O when elimination came and he just couldn't join the rest so he sat by the hallway halls for a bit :'( Even from 0 boots, Jin.O did well <3

Good Day - well since Heejin got eliminated... Like how the show treats Jeup and Rokhyun as vocal rivals, I thought Heejin was the perfect rival for NC.A >_<

Dah, I wish I can go on with my feelings and thoughts on each contestant but that'd be too long (maybe some other time). So I'll just end it with my new top 9 choices (after the last elimination) from Unit B and Unit G. And why I think they'll make the team complete. 

Unit B:
1. Leader: Regardless of who I want here and since they weren't originally in my line-up I believe it'll either be Hotshot's Timoteo or Boyfriend's Donghyun (these two has remained in the top 9 ever since the show started). Timoteo has proven himself to be a leader many times. He makes sure the group performs to the best of their ability and he knows what he wants even if it's going against the popular opinion. On top of that Timoteo is friendly and patient. Donghyun as Boyfriend's leader I think he has proven enough. Donghyun is the kind of leader that wants s to be comfortable even if he has to embarrass himself. 
2. Lead Vocalist: Madtown's Lee Geon. It will be a miracle like I said and I highly doubt he'll make it as there are Jeup and Rokhyun ahead of him but I can wish can't I..? Geon has one of the cleanest voice, he's a gem that I'm afraid the official group would lose if his fans and unit makers won't step up their game. 
3. Main Vocalist: Imfact's Jeup. I love Rokhyun, I really do but I feel Jeup's voice would work better with the rest. Rokhyun's voice is very different and it stands out, plus he can pull off just about any genre but Jeup's voice has that sentimental and power you can't really find anywhere else. 
4. Lead Dancer: Bigflo's Euijin. Either lead or main dancer for either of these two but it doesn't really matter since it's like 101% guarantee they're going to make the final group.
5. Main Dancer: Bigstar's Feeldog. 
6. Lead Rapper: Myname's Seyong. I really hope that Seyong makes it. His rap isn't as great as Kanto or Jun, but he can rap. His dance may not be like Euijin or Feeldog but he can dance. 
7. Main Rapper: Ji Hansol. We know Hansol was mainly dance but if he gets in with Feeldog and Euijin and has to be given a position, we know it'll be rap. Unless for some reason he's the visual (which I'm fine with but he needs more than just 'the visual' cause honestly speaking they're all visuals xD)
8. Visual: Hotshot Hojung. Hojung has proven himself to be a good singer (okay, but seriously, why does he always has to get like the English line in every song including Hotshot's lol xD) and dancer but above all else, I think he'll be in charge of visual. He's great at facial expressions on stage and his confidence makes it even better. 
9. Sub everything: U-Kiss Jun. No need for words, just put him in charge of a little bit of everything xD

* I'm still bummed that Kanto was eliminated. But he mentioned a solo comeback so let's get ready to support him at any cost <3
* Also, let us hope that at least Jeup gets into the top 9 because right now the top 9 are mainly dancers and rappers, so hopefully Jeup will balance the team out. I like Chan, Hangyul, and Kijung but I'm not really for them being in the final group. 

Unit G:
1. Leader: Matilda's Semmi. Not only is Semmi a powerful vocalist, her leadership skills really shine in the later episodes.
2. Lead Vocalist: Yang Jiwon. Just as Hyunah have said. "We've found our lead vocalist". 
3. Main Vocalist: NC.A. Her vocals always done wonders during choruses. 
4. Lead Dancer: Lee Sueji.
5. Main Dancer: Sonamoo's Euijin. Euijin can pull off any genre of dance so far, so I think she'll be the team's main dancer. It's either her or Sueji. 
6. Lead Rapper: n/a. Sueji might have to fill this spot too.
7. Main Rapper: Kim Euna. Unpretty Rapstar YEAH!
8. Visual: Dalshabet's Woohee. There's no doubt Woohee will be the visual if she makes it. Otherwise, she'll be a great vocalist. 
9. Sub everything: DIA's Yebin. Yebin has never truly rap, but if they give her some lines I think she'll do well. Her voice is pretty solid. 

* As you can see my Unit G list isn't complete because well..like a lot of the viewers I'm conflicted between Jiwon and Hyunjoo making the finale team. Yet, I don't have anyone else I really want from the bottom 9 9or maybe a Melody Day member might just work for me) >_<

Well, this has been quite a blog in a long time. If you read through it, let me know who are your top 9 from each unit. If you read through it even though you haven't seen 'The Unit' I strongly recommend you do :D I know as fans we don't have a lot of room to support everyone, but I can assure you, you'll love someone from the show :D Andddd if you didn't read through this, well, I still love you. But of course, you wouldn't know that haha.
