persoNality. We have a bit of a problem with Soonhwa' personality. On one hand Soonhwa seems to exhibity the "perfect" imperfet character. She's kind, charming, uber-friendly and faithful. Her hyper tendencies and optiistic charming nature lead many to call her I.O.I' brightest mamber. Soonhwa has this totally open, carefree vibe around herself, and while she is a member that has gotten into trouble in the past, mainly due to her western-mannersisms that made her seem rude in traditional Korean customs, this isn't why we have a problem with her,

Our issue with Soonhwa is that we can't help but feel he's so 'fake' and yes, we know it's so immature and typical anti to call an idol 'fake', and truth to be told we're nothing near antis to extremely loveable Soonhwa, she just seems so surreal to us. Hardly have we ever met a person, as dazzling and happy as Soonhwa in real life whom is actually that way. Most people that put up a happy front usually aren't as gleeful in real life and this feeling is so nagging whenever we see Soonhwa on a variety show, or holding an interview.

background. Soonhwa was born on December 19, 2001, in Orange County, California. Her family consists of her parents and three elder sisters. As a result, Soonhwa grew up being scared of loud noises. Once she grew up Soonhwa tried to go to different entertainments such as S.M. Entertainment. One day, she and her friends decided to take part of a k-pop dance cover competition. After performing in front of an audience alongside her friends, Soonhwa realized that she wanted to become an idol one day like her sister because she immediately fell in love with the feeling of being on stage. After 1 year at the age of 14 she saw some posters saying "Auditions" so this was her chance to be in an entertainment since she was 15 she can now join an actual anertainment an live her life as an idol.

As Soonhwa made it clear she wanted to start acting, Soonhwa would go with her sister once in a while to see how she was doing. During one of those trips, the producers asked her sister if Sunny would be an extra since a few of the children in the scene weren't going to make it. That was her first taste of being on a sort of stage which she can only remember now if her family points it out in the scene of the movie she was in. She started visiting her sister Sunny Lee  more on sets and realized how happy she would be when she'd be filming or just running lines with other actors. Seeing she is happy while acting made her want to persue something as well to make her happy. Her sister signed her up for singing lessons as a start to see if she would enjoy it. That one  moment changed her life forever as she realized during her 1st year at rapping classes, she loved singing.

Soohwa and her uncle do get along though and see each ther at lunch when one is not busy.

— Having trained for S.M. Soonhwa had some background for the training process, Her teachers in S.M. praised her for her beauty and talent about  main vocals and even praised her for her growing singing skills. Her trainee life was smooth because of being a former trainee in a well know company. But after a while Soonhwa had to join a girl group that was based of a survival show called Produce101 she made it to the top 11 and was part of YMC Entertainment for a few months, the teachers loved her because of her true talent after a weeks later, her older sister Sunny coming to visit her and see how she was doing.

— Samuel is just a sweet little dear but, sadly, he is too shy and introverted.  His introvertedness is something really hard to get over, because we can’t help but feel it creates distance between him and his fans, when usually, fans want to get to know their idols. He is adorable, but in a shy girl kind of way. Samuel has proven himself sweet, and the other idols usually comment on how much they want to take care of Samuel, and how he, in turn, also wants to take care of them. Samuel, is also very easily brought to tears. Samuel' tears however, come from his sensitive heart and emotional being, while Samuel is just a wiener. (;.

— Once Soonhwa went to her first school she first met Samuel when they were in school. She was seating right behind him in the classroom, she was completely in daydream thinking about him. Curious, he sat infront of her and smiled at her and said what you daydreaming about. She snapped out of her daydream and stared at Samuel for a few minutes. Both got to talking about the challenges and joys of training and their project groups, anticipating their debut dates. They soon lost track of time and had to part. They saw each other several times between schedules at different entertainments, falling easily into a long conversation each time. One day, just before Samuel' comeback, he saw on the news about I.O.I and their pending debut date, seeing that there were some 'new developments' in the matter. One of the fans noticed and asked his opinion on the matter. Since the group was talented, Samuel knew that these developments must be something good and exciting, perhaps an earlier debut. He smiled and agreed whole-heartedly, saying that he hoped to see everything come about soon. They starting dating after I.O.I' big debut and Samuel' comeback.
