Happy New Year!

I cannot believe that 2018 has already arrived! Last night I managed to make it till midnight...but that was with the help of many naps along the way!

Normally people say, "New year, new me!" But there is not a switch that gets flicked come the new year that makes you a new person...it takes time. So I never really understood why people would say that...but that is just me and my outlook on it. Just be you and work on whatever it is, and try to change what you want to change (:

In the past I have made resolutions like...to lose a certain amount of weight, to workout so often, to eat healthy foods, and so on and so forth in that manner. About 80% of new year resolutions fail/are given up on by the second week of February, so I do not want to give myself these goals that might seem unobtainable. I do not want to say I will lose a certain amount of weight, not see a drastic enough changed in a month and a half, and then feel like giving up. So instead this is what I want:

1) Lose weight: Not a specific amount, and I have no goal of when I want to lose weight...just to keep trying by losing between .05lbs - 2lbs a week (this is the healthy range for a week) so I am not starving myself to do it.

2) Include a veggie in at least one meal: I already basically do this, but I want to keep it up.

3) Go to bed at a consistent time: I should be going to bed at 10 but...it has gotten stretched to midnight or later since I do not have a job at the moment...need a schedule back!

3.5) Wake up at a normal time: This goes with #3. Since I go to bed at such funky times, I am not getting up until 8:30am or so...and that is too late for me! I am used to 6:00am! I need to fix my wacky sleep cycle -_-''

4) Work out: While workout videos are great, I find myself getting bored quickly because they are the same thing over and over daily. So this can even include walking, because that is a great was to burn calories just as well. They say half an hour of activity a day is good, so for this one I will have a length of at least 30 minutes each day...even weekends.

5) Keep on writing: I know this might seem like a dumn one to some of my subscribers, since I post so much, but even I get into slumps at certain times, and the new year can kind of be one of those because the end of the year has been so busy.

6) Get a job (by September): Even though I said I did not like setting timed goals, this one has to be. In the US, by the time you are 26, which is September for me, you go off your parents insurance and onto your own. This means for me, come the first day of October...I am off my parents insurance. I would like to have a job and be on their insurance and their benefits, instead of having to go on our state's insurance. So fingers crossed that in 9 months I can find something!

7) Be happy/positive: Once again, this might seem silly to some people that being happy is a resolution for this year. But I think it is a good one to have. Even though things get stressful, I need to stay happy and positive because being stress does nothing but wear the body down. Whenever I feel stressed I want to try and find something to be happy/positive about!

So these are new New Year Goals! I am not a new person now that a new year has started. I am the same person as in 2017, but with some goals I would like to work on to make myself healthier and happier.

What are yours?
