Another questionnaire

Found this as well at yffismydrug and I'm obviously bored.

*****

1. How did you come up with your user name and what does it mean?

For LJ (and other sites) I used the Japanese term for my favourite season and part of a name I back then loved from Kizuna. haru_ran literally means spring_orchid.

As for AFF, ear somehow evolved from playing around with the "petnames" BooJae and YunBear. I actually intended to use this for a chibi!YunJae halloween comic but yeah ....

2. Which is your most subscribed to story?

Apparently Dew, a bundle full of happiness. My first ever mpreg fic. Iseul is so much love ♥

3. Why did you pick your user photo/thumbnail?

Because most epic YunJae moment and it is all sorts of love ♥

4. Who is you AFF bestie?

fanfan69, without doubt. She's actually the reason I created an account to be able to read all those fics she sent me. xD

5. Is there a fanfic that you keep going back to read again and again?

Huh. Now that I think about it, I do love some of the fics I read dearly but I can't recall going back to them to read them again and over again. I just, I don't know. I re-read mangas or books more often then I ever did with fanfics.

The only thing I really would love to re-read is a Junjou Egoist fanfic called The Appendix Theory. Hiroki was so super cute in it I just .... it was so much love ;w; Unfortunately the author took it down completely. Imagine the agony to remember every aspect of this fic but not being able to re-read!

6. How many stories are you subscribed to?

76, I am pretty sure though I haven't read all of them yet ;;;;

7. What AU do you find yourself writing about the most?

High school or university settings. And mpreg 8D

8. How many friends do you have?

Keeping it only to AFF, 34.

9. Is there something you'd like to write about but are afraid of people judging you for it? (Feeling brave? If so, share it!)

I don't feel afraid of writing anything, I probably just think twice where to post it. I honestly feel far more comfortable sharing disturbing or daring stuff on LJ or AO3 for that matter. Don't get me wrong, but I have a feeling that majority won't appriciate a dark themed fiction on here in which psycho serial killer JaeJoong is torturing his love interest YunHo. I love reading and watching thrillers, heck, I find Hannibal the Cannibal ing intriguing as a character. I've just noticed, even before sharing most of my stuff here, that there are too many who can't separate real life from fiction.

10. Is there anything you would like to be better at on AFF? Writing, graphic design (posters), replying to comments, updating regularly, etc.?

If anything then updating regularly. I'd love to improve on that in general.

11. How many subscribers do you have?

Unique: 408

Total: 1069

Thanks ♥

12. How many stories have you posted online to this day (finished and unfinished)?

Jaesus, this needs calculating. It is without doubt more than the 60 I shared on here since some I collected on here in a dump of sorts. Not to forget my Hannibal related or animanga stuff.

.....

I've got a total of 117 published fictions (and no, I didn't measure which are finished and which not) and then about 16 that still are waiting to be put out into the open.

13. How many stories do you have saved in your writing program?

You mean in my fanfiction folder. Let me check.

.....

There are 7 non-TVXQ related files. And then we have 115 files dealing with TVXQ and mostly YunJae. That makes a total of 122.

14. Do you write down story ideas, or just keep them in your head?

I write them down. I've got notebooks and loose sheets of paper where something was quickly scribbled down. If I didn't write it down, the idea would plague me forever.

15. Have you ever co-authored a story?

Yes, a few. Mostly together with hana_cho or sidmaron (seldomly both) because back in our student days it was easy to think up stories together. I still hope we can work on them. Otherwise just with happy_girl89. Gotta ask her some time if she is still up for it.

16. How did you discover AFF?

fanfan69 was my YunJae fic dealer.

17. Do you consider yourself to be a popular or famous author on AFF?

Hardly. I've just recently decided to share my old stuff here and even if I were, I probably wouldn't notice. I actually always wondered what defines a fanfic or an author as popular in the fanfic world. I don't really care for stuff like that. I actually have a natural reluctance towards hyped things and give them a shot years later if at all.

18. Do you have a nickname or fandom name for your readers?

erts. It's okay though. I belong to that club as well.

19. Was there an AFF author who inspired or encouraged you to write?

No, I've been a writer long before I joined this place. There was no other fanfic author either on LJ who did. I was simply inspired by YunJae. Nowadays I kind of feel encouraged by Oscar Wilde's writings ♥

20. How many karma points do you have?

Apparently 1862. I still don't understand their meaning though or what they are for.

21. What writing advice would you give to a beginning author?

Most important: write whatever you please to your heart's content. Never forget to enjoy your writing, have fun with it and the characters. Always write for yourself first and the pairing you adore. Never let others pull you down for the things you love.

If you have trouble at one point, never feel afraid to ask for advice preferably from someone you know and can trust. A fandom friend you are close with or your beta reader. Brainstorming together with them will always be a blast I can assure you.

Never give up on your original idea. There will always be someone who disagrees with the way you portray a character or the elements used in your fiction. There however will be just as much who appreciate what you've created. Never let negative comments pull you down.

I may repeat myself but really, there are no limits to ideas. Write whatever you please, whatever makes you happy, whatever you find interesting or whatever pairing you adore.

Fanfiction is a world full of possibilities ♥

22. Do you plot out your stories, or do you just figure it out as you go?

A mixture of both, actually. I do plot out everything, sometimes very detailed, sometimes just key moments. In the process of writing I do encounter undeveloped plotlines and have to figure them out then. I mostly have a rough plot from beginning to end, sometimes a very detailed scene I want to include and more than often a very blurry idea of an ending. Like I said, this one is really the hardest for me.

23. Have you ever gotten a bad review or comment on a story? If so, what did you do?

To be perfectly honest, until I posted here no. I mean, I am aware that I can write very conflicting stuff every now and then but until now no one ever seemed to bother with it. I actually enjoy being a versatile writer.

I did receive a bad one on Too late calling me off as being offensive with this topic blabla. I actually would've replied, that yes, I understand the conflicting emotion but I honestly don't see the need to get rude about a piece of fiction. Since the one blocked me probably from keeping me from replying I simply deleted it. *shrugs*

That's the only one I really found .... weird. The others complaining about the fic not being purely YunJae I don't really take seriously. I don't force anyone to read my stuff simply because my main tag is YunJae. Everyone enjoys different things in writing and reading. I am sure there are many other stories out there that somehow fulfil whatever we feel like reading.

24. Is there a certain type of scene that you have a hard time writing? (action, , etc.)

Not really. Perhaps , but I actually try to avoid writing that in detail. If anything I mention it (that is if it really somehow found its way into the fic ;;).

25. What story(s) are you working on now?

I could put my entire list of ongoing fics, but as of right now I am focused on a Hannigram fic for a Halloween Ficfest.

26. Do you plan your next project(s) before you finish your current ongoing story(s)?

Hahahahahahahaha that was a good one. Someone give this memo to my brain. LMAO

Obviously not, otherwise I wouldn't have so many pending fics ;;;;

27. Do you have a daily writing goal set for yourself?

No. I tried that years ago and it didn't really work. Now I'm just happy that my muse has found its way back to me so I write whenever it hits me.

28. Do you think you've improved as a writer since you first started?

Very much. I don't take things too seriously anymore and write whatever comes to my mind. Also my way of writing changed. I write things more detailed than I used to and try to give more depth to the world I create.

29. What is your favorite story that you've written?

If we speak in terms of published, then サダメの薄幸な恋人 - The star-crossed lovers of Sadame for sure ♥

If we speak in terms of unpublished, then a collaboration with hana_cho that actually has far more of a Romeo and Juliet vibe than we intended. It for sure was not inspired by it. Very disturbing piece at some points. I love it ♥

30. What is your least favorite story that you've written?

Pure innocence. Back then I simply couldn't give justice to the iness that is JaeHo. I feel so ashamed. Gomennasai! Topping JaeJoong can be so hot, how could I not see this before?

31. Where do you see yourself (as a writer) in 5 years?

Hopefully still writing (and some if not all ongoing fics being completed).

32. How many upvotes do you have?

237. Aw, thank you so much ♥

33. What is the easiest thing about writing?

Coming up with a rough plot, and specific scenes.

34. What is the hardest thing about writing?

The .

Joking.

Finding a satisfying end and I've come to realize that nowadays I find it hard to find side characters for a YunJae story that don't come from a manga, anime, TV show, book, movie or are characters played by Mads and Hugh.

35. Why do you write?

This is actually a very good question. I've always had a creative side and my mom always wondered where my drawing skills come from when I was in school (and now when I draw for my oldest niece). When I started writing I didn't really think about it. I just did.

I found joy in writing, and it kept me going when real life got too hectic. I love thinking up stories, I love brainstorming with my friends, I love the people and the characters I write about.

I have no idea if it is related, but I love reading books. I've always read. There was never a time where I didn't. Maybe it influenced me, maybe not. I cannot tell.

I just know that I love writing. I missed it during my writer's block, terribly even. I am relieved that I found this joy again. It can be a stress reliever, an escape from real life if you need it and, most certainly, an element to let out your deepest emotions.
