pupa. at the age of nine, bina left seoul for new york city, where her mother's work had transferred her to and she decided to take her four babies along. nyc was bina's home for four years, ocassionally returning to seoul for celebrations like chuseok and birthdays, considering that her father chose to stay in south korea.
while in nyc, all four siblings discovered their mutual love for all things music. biyong was interested in writing lyrics and making beats, bihwan and bihyung enjoyed dancing, while bina was, of course, in love with singing. at the age of ten, after managing to become the top student of her grade, her mother allowed her to start professional vocal lessons. during her free time, she took up the guitar (thanks to biyong who loved to play) and also danced with her brothers as a hobby.
butterfly. returning to seoul for good when she was thirteen, bina decided on becoming a k-pop idol. she received lots of support from her brothers, but her parents were extremely against it—she was the smartest of their siblings and her parents' hopes of her were the highest, they expected her to venture off into a profession like theirs, and not an unpredictable job like being a musician. for one thing, they worried that she would go nowhere with that career, and another thing was they worried for her wellbeing. they knew that an idol's life was more than all the glitz and glam.
this period of time was very intense for the jeon family, because both bina and her parents were very persistent, often leading to steamy arguments. no matter how much bina tried to persuade them, they would stand with their "no". late 2013, a fed up bina made a childish attempt to run away from home but her father found her just a few hours later, crying at a bus stand a couple of blocks away from their house, having been too upset to make a rational move. not wanting to hurt their daughter any longer, mr and mrs jeon reluctantly agreed to bina's decision.

pretty u they first meet backstage when their comeback times collide and the girls respectfully introduce themselves to seventeen, who are their seniors. bina's indeed a casual fan of them and her favourites in particular were joshua and vernon, but during their first time meeting personally, it was seungkwan that caught her eyes. with how bright his smile was and how good he looked, the normally tough bina melted because of him. from then on, she watched more of seungkwan-centric videos and found herself adoring every little bit of him. he's funny, adorable and a total sweetheart; what is there not to love?
oh my baby they started becoming friends when they both featured on a variety show together. they didn't really interact much on the show itself, but because of seungkwan's friendly nature, he initiated a friendship with bina afterwards which she gladly accepted. their personalities, though slightly clashing, fit well and they clicked just after a few short conversations. they texted a lot and seungkwan made bina a different person; he made her shy, he made her nervous, he made her blush. he always made her smile and she'd instantly be in a good mood whenever she bumps into him. it's after all the girls have the time of their lives teasing her when she realises that she really does have a big crush on him.
her feelings became even more solid upon one time, when bina was suffering because of her diet. a text message ranting about how frustrated she was with herself was meant to be sent to 'byong oppa', but was accidentally sent to 'boo seungkwanie oppa' instead. seungkwan, who experienced dieting until he lost seven kg for a comeback, showed immense concern for her and he gave her really meaningful advice. the fact that he bothered to respond to her in the middle of his hectic schedule, no matter how many times she apologised for wrongly sending the message, really assured bina that yeap, seungkwan was the one.
mr right bina is actually really cool around him, even when she's panicking and/or fangirling inside. she treats him the way she would any other guy, only that she's much softer on him. she isn't hoping for anything; bina knows that seungkwan only thinks of him as a friend and that he sees her as a little sister, nothing more, but she can't stop herself from liking him. she has never asked him what he seriously thinks of her and she has never told him that she likes him, and she doesn't have the plan to—she wants to focus on her career and besides, she doesn't want to face rejection. but sometimes, seeing how highly seungkwan speaks of her when a show mc asks him about their friendship, or how sweetly and kindly he treats her, bina lets herself be delusional and she imagines that he likes her too.
