Am I a Winner Fan now??
This always happens to me!! I stumble upon a certain song and then I suddenly become obsessed with that group and I want to learn more about them. It happened to me with BTS, Got7, and NCT. And now it's happening to me with Winner. I know they've been around for a while now and I've always known about them. (I'm kinda YG biased at times) I've always like BB and 2ne1 and I even like Blackpink. But Winner was a group I kinda ignored if you will, for far too long.
I was listening to a Kpop radio station on Google Play (#andriodlife haha) but this song called Island kept playing.
I instantly fell in love with it. It has that fun, groovy style to it. (Similar to Kard's songs.) It makes you want to get up and dance with that Caribbean undertone. It played several times over the course of a few days of listening to that station and I loved the song more each time I heard it.
So today I took the initiative to finally look the song up and watch the video.
I WAS SHOOK!
The members looked so gorgeous and the MV is so beautiful. I'm getting the Kard vibes again with the light hearted MV. I love seeing that. Sometimes you get tired of seeing those MVs with the sappy love theme or dancing in a room. I want to see groups out and about having fun like humans should (even if it is just an MV) I don't really know the members, aside from Mino. Winner stans put me hip! I'm brand new to Winner to be honest.
And after seeing the MV, I watched the practice dance.
I WAS SHOOK AGAIN!!
I like how the dance was super chill and fits with the nature of the song. I might actually try to learn it at some point. I replayed this video at least 10 times today just to watch the dancing. I think this whole concept is just so inviting. And I am definitely getting the GD vibes from Mino. He has his own rapping style, but that green hair and those clothes remind me of Jiyong so much. And he even grooves to the music like GD does. I love it!!
I also love this song too.
And I like their debut song as well. I heard this song a long time ago but I'm throwing it in just because I can't believe I never looked into Winner more after hearing this song when it first came out.
It's too bad that I didn't get to enjoy the group while they had all of their original members. But I still think Winner is talented and I wish them the best in the future.
