the 'romance' and 'exo' tag

ok, first, this is completely not important.

well, i was browsing through this site and click on the 'tags' button, and seen that the 'exo' tag is number two wih only about 300 numbers apart from the number one 'romance' tags.

then i realise, wasn't 'romance' tag outnumbered any other tags by a lot about 3-4 years ago? and then 'exo' tag is gaining a lot of numbers and safely placed second, and at one point it even surpassed the 'romance' tag and placed first?

so, is 'romance' finally gain its place back? and with only little numbers apart, and a lot of authors that write 'exo', will this be a competition between them?

please ignore this blogpost if you're only gonna leave some hate. ~~is there even something to hate with this matter....~~

lol i've noticed that the romance and exo tags always seem to not be too far behind each other, probably because most exo fics are romance anyway xD

Yeah, romance use to be like the number one tag all the way back by a lot, but once Exo debuted and they got bigger along with their fandom, that's when fanfics for them like skyrocketed and their tag section was like top dop for a good amount of time. And I definitely know because I was part of it at the time lol. From like 2012 to 2014 I was in this huge EXO phase where they become my top fav boy group and pretty much the majority of what I did, whether it be creating more fanfics or watching vids, had to do with EXO. But now, as you point out, recently romance has overcome the Exo tag and has become the top one again, but it has also kinda been going back and forth between the two from what I've seen.

I usually tag my stories with romance no matter what. I'll only tag exo if I'm writing about EXO. I never knew the tags were in competition lol, thanks for this information!
