LOVE INT  : Park Chanyeol
BACKUP : Kim Jongin or Baekhyun (whichever one you think fits the image more)

NICKNAME(S) :

Narcissus- Narcissus is the man who fell in love with his own reflection and lost the will to leave his image from Greek mythology. His brothers joke that Chanyeol was Narcissus in his past life.
VISUALS — Yuria is 168 cm and 49 kgs. She has long, straight, light brown hair (much like face claim picture), pale skin and golden-brown hazel eyes. She is beautiful and elegant, posessing the poise of a princess. She has a tiny waist from all those corsets over the years, long legs and looks like a doll when standing still. Even if you don't know who she is, her vibe just kind of screams royalty and you are the scum beneath my feet. Yuria likes to wear kimonos or yukatas if she's just walking around the palace. She loves pastel colors, embroidery and jewelry. She likes to pick flowers each morning and wear them in her hair along with her hair ornaments. However, if there is a special occasion, she will wear a victorian style dress.
clothing:
1 / 2 / 3 / 4
hairstyle: In the early 1500s, Japanese women actually wore their hair down. This style was called Taregami [source]. During the heian and muromachi era, Japanese noblewomen rejected Chinese hairstyles, and created a new fashion sensibility. The longer your hair was, the better. Floor length hair was considered the height of beauty. Yuria like wise, usually leaves her hair down and decorates it with many hair ornaments, jewels and flowers. Her hair is about floor length. Sometimes Yuria will tie her hair back into a style called the Osuberakashi (which is basically a ponytail) or will have it in a halfdo for formal occasions, but most of the time, she has her hair down. 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5

PERSONALITY —
A cold and calculating but sensitive princess who has major trust issues. She used to be confident, charismatic, happy, forgiving, naive, and less emotionless before her brother's betrayal, but she is currently nothing but a shell of her former self. All she currently wants is to marry whomever will be the next King. Although she's ready to do whatever it takes for her to win in this game called politics, she's really just a girl who wants to protect herself. Those who know her well know that although she may seem cold, calm and emotionless, but the truth is, Yuria is just (unconsciously) waiting for someone to heal her and help her trust in humanity again.

+persuasive, eloquent, intelligent, wise, just, sympathetic,  self sufficient, resourceful, altruistic
= feminist, sensitive, cold/emotionless
- manipulative, politician, actress, distrustful, paranoid, vengeful, judgmental, insecure, ambitious

cold, chic, composed and full of poise, self sufficient
Yuria knows proper ettiquette and rarely deviates from it. She is a woman who doesn't show much emotion, therefore, her nickname was created. Yuki-hime-sama. She doesn't laugh or smile much and she's almost always prim and proper. She doesn't express herself very well, although she used to talk and smile a lot more before her brother's betrayal. His betrayal has made her rather emotionless: be the cold and emotionless so no one can see through you.

눈치가 빠르다, (roughly translates to reads people well, hyper aware of her surroundings and how people feel)
Yuria has a 6th sense: she can read people really well. She's basically the opposite of dense. She's sharp when it comes to people and can often see through people's lies. However, this talent of hers can also be a curse. Because she can often see what people truly want, it makes her lose faith in the world even more. She's also careful not to piss off the people who are above her on the power pyramid through this talent. The back of her mind is always observing people.
She also gets even more paranoid of the few people she can't understand. If she can't predict what you're thinking; she prefers to stay away from you.
— Paranoid, cautious, pessimistic, distrustful
After her brother's betrayal, she got better at reading people, and the better she got, the more paranoid she became. Seeing people's true desires was almost a curse. Money, power, riches and fame. And most people inside the palace wouldn't care what they would have to do to get whatever they want. She's come to expect the worst and to not trust anyone with how she truly feels, because she knows thats the only way to survive this kind of life style.

Just, sympathetic, altruistic
Although she doesn't always play fair, she is just. She tries to deal with people with lower status (as long as they are not in her way) in a morally right manner unless they give her reason to. If she were ever to become Queen, she would be a just one. She seeks justice for all wrongs and has become morally uptight ever since her brother's betrayal, refusing to stoop down to his level. She treats people below her status fairly and believes everyone has a right to live. Most of Yuria's trademark bad personality traits only apply to people inside the palace. Outside the palace, she becomes a totally different person: she allows herself to become that kind naive girl that she once was before her brother. Because status doesn't matter once you're outside the palace walls and because status only makes you lust for more, she feels more safe outside away from politics.
Yuria is actually very sympethetic and generous towards common folk who have nothing to do with the palace; she strangely feels more at ease with common folks and peasants because she feels the burden of politics is lifted. She loves listening to stories about the outside world and will help people out secretly. (Ofc the palace people don't see this side of her, so the ice princess and doll nicknames stick). She romanticizes life outside the castle walls and sometimes wishes she could be like them. Yuria is like a different person outside the castle walls; she feels the burden of politics are lifted and she truly has the chance to be just herself. Although she enjoys her excursions outside, she does ultimately realize that that kind of lifestyle isn't for her, which is why she taught herself how to survive at court after her brother.

Manipulative, opportunistic, politician, actress
Does Yuria care if she ruins your life as long as she gets what she wants? No. She'll take any opportunity as long as it benefits her, and is totally okay with pretending she was innocent later on. She's a master actress and is okay with using her intelligence, appeal, blackmail, whatever to keep her position safe. She knows she's just a visiting princess who will eventually wed. She knows she has to be careful. In fact, she hasn't even opened up the fact that she's a brilliant military strategist because she's saving one of her best cards for last.

 Persuasive, eloquent, intelligent, wise
Although Yuria doesn't like talking about herself, she can enlighten you with her intelligence and is one of the most persuasive women you will ever meet. She is able to communicate with unlevelled eloquence (compared to other spoiled nobles) and is very good at debate.

 Insecure, sensitive, materialistic
Yuria is afraid that people will betray her. She's afraid of trusting someone else and doesn't trust even herself. She's always worrying about the littlest things and is actually quite sensitive. Although she doesn't show it, she's actually hurt by the palace gossip. On the inside, she's just someone that just wants to be loved, but she really doesn't know how, so she just obsesses over politics and tries to keep herself safe. Also, because she's insecure and sensitive, she tries to mask it off by decorating herself. She always dolls up wherever she goes to mask her insecurity.
She also tends to judge other court ladies based on what they're wearing. Because palace life for women is all about show, she does her best to keep up with trends and will frown upon those who do not.

 Dislikes taking orders, feminist
She hates taking orders from people especially men and she hates how society limits her so much for not having a . She's probably smarter than all these men combined. ugh. If any of the princes boss her around, then they're on her avoid list. She is looking for someone who will become king and will be able to treat her as an equal.

 Self-sufficient, resourceful
She hates depending on others for things. She likes to do things by herself and is quite resourceful.

INNER DEMON: Ambition, Wrath, Hypocrisy, Judgment
— Ambition: Yuria will not stop until she gets what she wants. She doesn't care if she has to trample over someone or seduce a man; she will figure out a way and then do it. Her one-track mindedness and focus is no joke. Once she decides her goal, she mechanically hatches a plan and a course of action and then executes it.

— Wrath: Yuria will never forget a wrong. She will wait patiently if needed to lower your defenses and will wait for the right time to pay it all back. Sometimes, if they have wronged her enough, she obsesses over her revenge plans. For her revenge on her older brother, it is essential that she become Queen of Eudaemonia, which is why she must marry the next King. The scariest thing is: when you provoke her wrath, you won't know until you pay the price for it. She is perfectly able to put on a pokerface and go on as normal until she is ready to stab you in the back.
—Hypocrisy/Judgment: Because Yuria is concerned with protecting herself, she is quick to jump to conclusions about other people in the palace without putting herself in their shoes. She categorizes people in her head all the time-- are these people capable of posing a threat to me or not? Could these people be of use? She is quick to judge others based on their appearance, skills and status. Judging people gives her a sense of false relief in her mind because she then knows what to expect from them. She also judges people because it makes her feel better about herself. She'll say really condescending things about other people inside her mind. She'll judge other people for faults she has as well. For example when she meets Chanyeol she judges him for being materialistic and snobby even though she's materialistic herself. For her, it's like a drug. Finding faults in other people means she gains an advantage over them, she knows their weaknesses and in a twisted sense, it makes her stronger and boosts her ego temporarily. But her insecurities will attack her again at some point-- and that's when she returns to making herself feel suprerior by making others feel inferior. Her hypocrisy and judgment are pretty much a never ending cycle. Paranoia fuels her ambition to make a safe position for herself, her ambition sometimes upsets others and triggers someone else's wrath, which in turn can ignite her own wrath. And once her own wrath is triggered, she feels insecure bc she has to fight for herself once again, and she makes herself feel better through judgment. Her worst traits all interact with each other to consolidate her inner demon.

TRIVIA —
- Loves hair accessories and jewels. Opal, aquamarine, and topaz to bring out the gold in her eyes.
- Likes to dress up everywhere she goes, she is the ultimate girly girl, and you will never see her wear the same outfit twice with the same accessories.
- Although she mostly wears kimonos, she likes to collect and try on different kinds of clothes from other countries as well.
- Is undefeatable when it comes to Chinese checkers

- Loves mochi, sweet potatoes, sakura blossoms and green tea

- Her favorite colors are pink and gold.
- She is actually really good at archery. Akitsuto taught her when she was younger.
- Almost zero tolerance for alcohol -- since it's considered unlady-like, she's barely had sips of it. She might be what you call a one-shot wonder. When she's drunk, she gets even more paranoid in a cutesy way.
- Is actually a koto genius (Japanese traditional instrument)
- Although not as smart as a the scholar, her military knowledge and techniques are superb.

- She always has on a ring with a hollow gem that has poisoned needle on the inside just in case.
- Is resistant to most types of poisons
- Is a big fan of Japanese mythology + is Shintoist
- Has a really small appetite (trained to eat little to appear lady like and just naturally eats little)

BACKGROUND — Yuria is the third daughter and seventh child of late 104th emperor of japan, Katsuhito. During her father's reign, she secretly aided her 2nd eldest brother, Akitsuto, in order for him to ascend the throne. Despite her ladylike image, she is actually a brilliant military commander and brought Akitsuto many victories. She allowed her older brother to take credit for all her military accomplishments, seeing as how Japan was losing territory from wars and because it wouldn't be socially acceptible for her to do those things as an unmarried woman. In exchange, her brother promised to make her a top general when he grasped the throne. Thanks to Yuria's military tactics and strategies, second prince Akitsuto was a real contender for the throne. However, Yuria's father, Emperor Katsuhito, passed away, leaving Gonara, the eldest brother, as the successor. Yuria arranged a military coup de'tat, and with the help of Akitsuto's ministers, overthrew Gonara and crowned her 2nd eldest brother as the 106th emperor of japan. Yuria and Akisuto were still new to the world of politics; they didn't have the heart to kill Gonara, so they decided to imprison him for life at one of the palaces on a small desolate Japanese island meant for banished nobles/royalty.
However, Akitsuto was always a little spineless and too easily influenced. Once his ministers had found out that Yuria had been the one controlling the military all along, they urgently advised him to get rid of her. "How horribly would your image suffer if the people knew you rose to the throne because of a woman, your majesty? If you make her a general, one day people will piece together the puzzle. She needs to leave this country." They urged.
So Akitsuto attacked Eudaemonia using Gonara's insignia, the overthrown emperor, making it look like it wasn't his fault. When his fake army lost, he pretended to have no part in the attack, but instead offered reparations. Akitsuto's ministers made the attack look like a portion of the military acted on their own. So for reparations, peace and goodwill, Akitsuto declared that he would send his younger sister, Princess Tomohito Yuria of the Kyoroku dynasty to wed one of Eudaemonia's princes. Along with Princess Yuria, he sent a massive dowry to make up for any losses Eudaemonia may have sustained from the raid.
Not wanting to offend the new emperor of Japan, and wanting to foster good relations, King Jaewoo accepted the offer.
Of course, Yuria was enraged at the betrayal by her brother. She knew Gonara wasn't behind the attack and realized this was just a ploy to get rid of her. How dare he. Akitsuto promised her a position as the commander in chief for letting him take credit for her achievements. from then on, Yuria lost faith in humanity and realized the world she was born into was nothing but politics.

RELATIONS —

Older Brother || Tomohito Akitsuto || The source of Yuria's wrath
Wanting to see her wise and gentle mannered elder brother to succeed instead of her blood thirsty eldest brother, Yuria stepped up and mastered the world of politics and military intelligence to help him. But she never dreamed that he would betray her like this and loathes him for sending her to Eudaemonia.
Akitsuto and Yuria are the only children of the late Emperor and his first Empress. Gonara was only their half brother, but the eldest son of the Emperor beared by his [at the time] concubine. Eventually, Akisuto and Yuria's mother, the first Empress, passed away when Yuria was around eight, and the Imperial concubine (Gonara's mother) rose to be the second empress, which was why Gonara ended up being first in line for the throne. Yuria was too young to really remember her mother, but Akitsuto described her as a warm, naive forgiving person. And maybe Akitsuto suspected that and suspected the second Empress was trying to break Gonara out of prison and Gonara knew it was Yuria that was behind all the military which is why he agreed to send her away for her own safety instead of selfish reasons and Yuria actually totally misunderstood everything?

Stepmother || Tomohito Azura || The Former Second Empress
traits: obsessive, greedy, calculating, cruel, selfish, posessive, manipulative, envious, merciless, vindictive, cold-blooded, demanding, power hungry
Wang Lamei (birth name) was actually born to a peasant family in China. She was sold by her parents who wanted a boy to slave traders and ended up somehow in Japan. She was given a Japanese name and was told by her capturers to never reveal her true ethnicity or her own life would be in danger because of the building tension between Japan and China. She was then named Suehiro Azura and was sold off to a Japanese noble family and became the attendant of their daughter. This noble family apparently was trying to get the newly crowned Emperor of Japan to take their daughter as a bride. Azura happened to accompany the young miss to the Imperial Palace as her maid. Azura was sick of being a slave: the young miss abused her, treated her like crap and all Azura really wanted to do was escape this lifestyle. Azura decided to take matters into her own hands. She gifted his majesty with expensive wine that was from her mistress but slipped a heavy aphrosidiac into it. She then took the liberty of presenting it to the emperor herself, and sure enough when the aphrosidiac hit, Azura was there to give her ity to him.
Azura was then declared a concubine of the emperor next morning. Any woman that sleeps with the Emperor is considered as his and cannot be touched by any man even if the Emperor never wants to touch her again. She is and will forever be his. Of course the mistress and her family were furious, but what could they do? Azura was of higher status than they were now. She suddenly felt the rush of power she gained from just spending one night with the emperor. She was truly at the top now. All these luxuries, jewels and comfort: she began to obsess over them. She was even more joyful when she was promoted to a consort for bearing his majesty a son.
However, when Yuria's mother, the first empress, got married to his majesty and became the Queen, Azura couldn't stand her. How dare she steal away his majesty's affection? How dare she bear him children? How dare she take away this spot of power from me? Azura began obsess over the spot of Queen once she saw how Yuria's mother had different privileges from hers. Azura wanted it all. She began seducing his majesty, vying of affection, starting rumors about the other concubines and slowly rose to the status of Imperial Concubine while slowly poisoning Yuria's mother. Yuria's mother suddenly passed away from unknown conditions and Azura was crowned the next empress. Azura then began to obsess how to put her own son, Gonara, onto the throne.
Up until now, Azura has guarded the fact that she was a Chinese peasant, because she knows that once that fact is common knowledge, Gonara and her days of luxury are as good as over. Oh yeah, and if you think Azura is heartless and a , well she is. She also had that young miss she used to serve assassinated in cold blood. When she hears from her son that Yuria might have been the cause of her meticulous plans foiling and her son's fall, she is back with a vengeance like never before. Azura always had thought that Yuria was kind of dumb and privileged and severely underestimated her.

Friend || Chan Xinyi (20) ||  The one she not so secretly adores
Xinyi is the almost exact opposite of Yuria, and for that reason Yuria adores her even more. Yuria thinks its super cool that Xinyi can live so carefreely and simply. She loves hearing Xinyi talk about her travels and the world out there. Xinyi is everything Yuria sometimes wishes she could be but knows she can't. She fails to see Xinyi's shortcomings and admires her free spirit. Yuria pretty much envies Xinyi's positivity and detachment to things. She almost idolizes her in a way. Xinyi is probably one of the only ones Yuria will express herself to in the palace. Although Xinyi sees her as a friend, her detached nature prevents her from liking Yuria just as much as Yuria likes her. Basically, Yuria likes her as a friend way more. Yuria is a good listener and Xinyi's banter usually cheers her up. Their relation-ship is more like Yuria quietly admiring Xinyi as she talks and Yuria giving Xinyi things she needs as gifts occasionally. Xinyi knows that Yuria isn't an ice princess and is subconsciously getting attached to Yuria slowly but surely. Xinyi appreciates the fact that Yuria doesn't hold her status over her and feels less like a fish out of water everytime she talks to Yuria. Yuria often explains the parts of the palace that Xinyi doesn't understand. (It would be interesting if Xinyi was secretly jealous of Yuria too. Like if she was jealous of Yuria bc she's so feminine and boys chase after her or bc she's a princess and they both assume the other has everything)

Acquaintance || Xu Ming Xia (19) ||  The one Yuria doesn't really understand
Ming Xia originally dislikes Yuria, mostly because she is royalty and Ming Xia can't stand nobles to begin with. Yuria also can't really figure out what the girl is actually planning so they both stay away from each other. However, over time Ming Xia realizes that Yuria is not like the rest of the royal families she's seen and that Yuria actually has sympathy for the lower classes (whether she sees Yuria helping out others or teaching the princes a lesson about being nice or smth else). The two eventually become closer later on.

LOVER'S BACKGROUND — Prince Chaneyol was born from one of the many concubines of the Queen. Although his birth isn't as noble as some of his other brothers-- his mother was a from a very, very wealthy and illustrious noble merchant family and Chanyeol felt as if he had the world while growing up. His mother was one of the few concubines whose family had so much power and influence that Chanyeol got almost everything he wanted. Chanyeol was showered with love, spoiled with compliments and was ultimately born into power and majesty.
Chanyeol, from all the praise from his mother's underlings and everyone else in general, almost believes that he is a reincarnation of a god of some sort and that every person of lower birth is trash and only exists to serve him. He is also used to girls throwing themselves at him and just kind of assumes that all girls will love him no matter what.
Chanyeol isn't really that all special compared to the rest of his brothers; the only thing he really excells in is business and making deals. Thanks to his mother's family's business background, he understands the economy and business sector of the nation fairly well and has his mother's family's full support for the throne. Chanyeol is an expert at making deals, treaties and business pacts with other nations and dealers, which none of his other brothers seem to be good at, which only boosts his uncessarily high ego more.
Chanyeol is one of the princes that desperately wants the throne. He doesn't care whatever dirty trick or how much of his mother's influence he has to use. He can't stand the idea of taking orders from one of his other brothers; his ego just wouldn't allow that. So for the top he aims. #throneorbust

PERSONALITY — Chanyeol is that one prince who is much too obsessed with himself. He thinks the world revolves around him (in his defense, for all of his 23 years of life, it has) and assumes the rest of the world is there to worship his perfection. And to his defense, he's pretty attractive and has a decent personality (if you subtract his ego that covers more than just the face of the earth). He acts so high and mighty that you wouldn't be surprised if you heard a rumor that he believes he's some reincarnated god in human form. He thinks all girls will fall for him and that all lower class people are there to serve the upper class. In his defense, girls do run to his arms, and he doesn't mind. Chanyeol is pretty much the OG fuccboi. Chanyeol is that one prince who really believes he has the world in the palm of his hand but really doesn't.

+ adventurous, creative, playful, charismatic, daring, bold, persuasive, humorous, smooth, eloquent, frank
= perfectionist, mommy's boy (LOL), one track minded, a bit of a player/flirt, mellow-dramatic, overreacts
- arrogant, reckless, snobby, narcissistic, prideful, manipulative, childish, insensitive, rebellious, self centered, condescending, unapologetic

—adventurous, creative, playful, witty and humorous
let's start out with some of his good points before I butcher his personality. Chanyeol first of all, if you put aside his ego, is actually a pretty fun guy to befriend. He's adventruous, meaning that he's open and likes to try new things. He's creative and always has new ideas for everything. He's also a bit of a prankster and is very fun to joke around with. He has a good sense of humor and as long as you don't talk about physical appearances (the source of his ego), he's actually really good company. He's the kind of guy that doesn't sit still and will always do something to make his friends/brothers smile.
—charismatic, daring, bold and frank, rebellious
Chanyeol is someone that always speaks his mind. He's honest and frank about how he feels and he never fails to express himself. And that's probably why he's so charismatic. The way he expresses himself freely is refreshing and draws others to him. He does what he wants and he gets what he wants. He doesn't really care too much about social conventions and again, that's probably what makes him charming; he's so genuine about everything he says and does.
—persuasive, smooth and eloquent, flirtatious
Chanyeol is also someone that's well spoken. His speech can carry elegance and persuasion, but he's also just a smooth guy. He knows how to pick up girls and make them squeal. He's used to getting everything he wants: including girls. He knows how to express himself in a way that's appealing to other people.
—perfectionist, one track minded
Chanyeol is only perfectionist and one track minded in the aspect that once he sets his goals, he doesn't stray from them until he has accomplished them. Chanyeol isn't necessarily naturally smart or athletic; he's just someone who tries really really hard through his efforts. However, he likes to pretend that he's a genius because his ego won't let him admit that he wasn't born with it.
—condescending, arrogant, snobby, narcissistic, prideful, materialistic
Chanyeol tends to look down on those who are of lower birth than him and believes that their only purpose is to serve those with purpose (like him). He takes his followers and supporters for granted and acts like he really is an reincarnated god. He thinks he's the best looking out of his brothers and whatnot. I'll explain why he's so narcisstic in inner demon section, but he also believes that since he's the best, he should dress the best as well. He's also one of the few princes obsessed with riches, clothes and his appearance. He likes to dress up to show off the fact that he was born into high society.
—childish, unapologetic,  insensitive, mommy's boy
Chanyeol can be a bit childish and immature. His jokes sometimes cross the line and he can be a bit insensitive. Most of the time he doesn't notice that his jokes/behaviors have offended other people because he's too busy appreciating himself. Even if he does notice, he hates to apologize and will not admit that he did any wrong willingly. Chanyeol is also a bit of a mommy's boy and will do almost anything his mother asks.
—rebellious, self centered, impulsive
Chanyeol's arrogance makes him also rebellious. On certain things he cares about, he has to have his way or its the highway. He's self centered because he's used to having things his own way, and he won't comply unless everyone marches under the same drum as he does. He's also just impulsive, he does what he wants without thinking things through because he doesn't have to deal with the consequences of his actions.

—mellowdramatic, overreacts, reaction king

Chanyeol tends to be really mellowdramatic. He's never one to stay silent. He's the one that laughs the loudest in the group, the one to overreact to everything. The kid just never stays still. His overreactions were probably reinforced by all the attention he was given while he was growing up, further solidfying his habits to overreact to everything. It's not necessarily a good or bad thing, sometimes his reactions are really funny, but other times, because Chanyeol is ignorant and doesn't know when to shut up, it can be annoying.

INNER DEMON — Narcissism, Pride, Competitiveness
1.) Narcissism/Pride, shallow : The boy thinks he's the best looking in all of Eudaemonia. This is partially because girls adore him everywhere he goes and his mother raising him as if he were already the prince of the world. The boy thinks he's the best out of all his brothers and his ego shoots higher than the sky. He's so prideful that it makes him self centered and unsympathetic. He's the type of guy that won't really feel bad for victims of a disaster because he'll be staring in the mirror or decide which new shoes to buy. He's obsessed with the way he looks because he thinks he's the best. He can hide his ego if he wants to, but if he's with people he's close to, he choses not to. Instead, he jokingly says that I'm the best and stuff like that, but everyone knows he really means it.
2.) Competitiveness : This stems from Chanyeol's pride. Because he thinks he's the best, he can't stand it when someone else does better than him. He has to have the last end of the straw. He always tries to outdo everyone else.

TRIVIA:
— is a musical genius: plays 5 different instruments, including medieval version of guitar
— likes to write songs and music
— likes being doted on and cared for and almost never goes anywhere without a servant
— probably stares at the mirror or something reflective every 10 minutes or so out of habit
— likes skincare products and maintaining his appearance + body the most out of all the princes
— knows how to use twin swords and spear-swords (learned how to use weaponry techniques his brothers don't really know how to use so he could feel superior/brag)

— likes to collect antiques from all over the world, likes to travel for his business deals he gets sent out on
— at military techniques and whatnot (which is a part of the reason why he wants Yuria)
— is a nightowl and hates waking up early
— for him there's two different types of people: people worth trying to impress and trash
— likes the color red and gold
— likes to make height jokes for the shorter brothers
— can be funny but also borderline offensive and doesn't know when to stop (bc he's that self centered)
— eats A LOT  but never gains weight T^T
— has a white fluffy puppy named Songah

THEIR LOVE STORY —

[THEIR BACKGROUND] A lot of the brothers have been vying for Yuria's attention. They have heard about her military skills and techniques from the letter of introduction the Japanese emperor sent along with her and saw her as a good candidate for Queen/wife. So naturally, Yuria heard almost every rumor about all the brothers as they tried to defame each other. Every time she heard them gossiping about each other, it made her lose faith in humanity even more. Was it rumors that drove her out from the Japanese palace as well?At first, Yuria hated Eudaemonia with a passion because the only reason she was here was because of her traitor brother. So any prince that tried to court her, she rejected ruthlessly, earning her the title of ice princess. Yuria's first impression of  Chanyeol was probably the worst
out of all the princes. When she first was introduced to him, Yuria thought he was just really materialistic, self centered and arrogant (even though she's materialistic herself).
Chanyeol heard about how impossible Yuria was being from his brothers and scoffed. He wanted to get her just so he could brag about it in front of his other brothers and then dump her. How great would that be? From what he heard, Princess Yuria was also gorgeous. Bonus points. How could he not try to go for her?
[THEIR STORY BEGINS] So the second time he met her, he tried to court her, but as predicted, she ruthlessly rejected him and secondhandly embarassed him from all his brothers. His brothers liked Yuria even more after rejecting Chanyeol for giving him the break that his ego needed. However, this ignited Chanyeol's competitive and childish side. He was enraged at the fact that this princess from a faraway land had dared to reject him. He was deeply offended by her actions and tried to make her life a living hell. He starts off by playing pranks and jokes on her, and when he's met with her cold and indifferent facade, he eventually resorts to teasing her about her flaws and faults. Although it may not seem like his words hurt her, Yuria is actually quite sensitive and finds life in the palace hard because of Chanyeol. At one point Chanyeol says something to her, (perhaps he found out that she was kicked out of Japan for some reason, misunderstanding why she was here and accusing her of being a spy or illegitimate or something ridiculous like that) and makes her cry. At that point, Chanyeol for the first time feels guilty because that was the first time Yuria's ice princess image cracked. All he subconsciously wanted was to see a human reaction from her. From then on Yuria fought back and did all sorts of things to embarass Chanyeol and defame his image and his chances for the throne. Yuria tried to stay silent at first because no matter what, she was a guest in Eudaemonia, but she literally couldn't stand it anymore and started plotting against Chanyeol. At this point, Yuria starts to reciprocate Sehun's advances (bc he's way nicer to her than Chanyeol and her fragile ego can't take much more) However, this makes Chanyeol jealous and he corners her, claiming her as his. This sets off Yuria on another rampage, bringing out the feminist in her. Chanyeol is the only one that can break her cold and calm facade. He makes her angry. How dare he say that she's his after all the cruel things he said and did to her? At that point, Yuria breaks and curses him, hits him while crying. She shows him her most vulnerable side by accident from all the stress. She curses him for all the mean things he's said to her, saying how she pretends not to be hurt but on the inside, she is deeply wounded. By seeing her cry once more, Chanyeol realizes that he's been obsessed with her all this time and feels bad that his words have hurt her this much. He shuts her cries up with a rough, demanding, passionate kiss. And somehow Yuria found herself unable to resist this man who made her so upset, so mad and angry. Chanyeol apologizes to her for all the things he's done. Her tears moving past even his ego. And although he first tried to half- his courtship for her, once he saw how fragile she actually was (and how much of it was his fault), he tries to court her again this time, trying to change himself, trying to be more humble and modest, and more into the man that can help her trust in humanity once again.
[THEIR CONCLUSION] Yuria had honestly always found Chanyeol attractive, so when he tries to court her a second time, despite this hurting his reputation (chasing a girl he already got rejected by, bc you know trying again means acknowledging the first time was a complete failure) and being uncharacteristic of his ego (bc normally Chanyeol would probably be butthurt), she decides to give him a second chance. His confidence is something that annoys her but is also something that makes her jealous and makes him attractive because its something she lacks. Their relationship at the beginning is still rocky. She's still paranoid, and doesn't like talking about herself and Chanyeol is still an , but they both make an effort to understand each other better as Chanyeol helps build Yuria's confidence and as Yuria helps knock down his ego. In the end, they turn into a couple that bickers a lot with each other. They're either arguing with each other or madly in love and can't keep their hands off each other. They're hot and they're cold, but they make their best efforts to keep their relationship working.

SUMMARY
— Character Analysis: Yuria and Chanyeol

Similarities [cohesion]:
1.) Stubborn + ambition: They both won't stop once they have something they want. However, they're motivated by completely different reasons. For Yuria, she's usually motivated by her paranoia: she just wants to keep herself safe. For Chanyeol, it's usually because he assumes that it should be his. He's the ultimate privileged shallow prince.
2.) Rebellious: Yuria hates taking orders from other people and is a low key feminist. However, Chanyeol hates taking orders because he thinks he's on top of the world and can be patriarchal. Sometimes Chanyeol says something that's domineering or condescending or even bossy, and he won't realize it, but it will piss Yuria off.
3.) Materialistic + judgmental: They can both be materialistic and judgmental. Yuria because she needs the extra ego boost and Chanyeol because comparing himself to others is the source of his ego.
4.) Travelling: Yuria really wants to travel the world, but she rarely gets chances to. Chanyeol really likes travelling for business, so the two get closer as they discover new places together for Chanyeol's family's business.

Differences [contrasts]:
1.) Their views on lower class people: Yuria is quite empathetic and envies them in some ways, Chanyeol just thinks they're trash.
2.) Their egos: Yuria is not confident, she's paranoid, sensitive and afraid. She obsesses how she appears to others and in some ways, subconsciously seeks people's approval. She wants power so she doesn't have to be afraid. Chanyeol is her literal opposite at the end of this spectrum. He was privileged with a powerful and affluent mother. His world revolves around himself while hers revolves around her paranoia of others.
3.) Their self awareness: Yuria is very self aware of herself and others, however, the only thing Chanyeol is aware of about himself is probably that he (thinks he) is awesome. He's a bit ignorant and slow witted when it comes to how other people feel when Yuria is the exact opposite.
4.) Their dependency on others: Yuria hates depending on others while Chanyeol really isn't self sufficient at all, being the spoiled brat he really is.
5.) Their humor: Yuria has none. She's the type that takes everything too seriously and sometimes gets offended by Chanyeol's jokes. She's too serious for her own good. But luckily Chanyeol is the type that jokes around too much. They start balancing each other out later once they can stand each other.
6.) Their family: Yuria is really sometimes jealous of Chanyeol because he's so close to his mom and his brothers. Although she realizes later on, the brothers are fighting with each other for the throne and gets a little discouraged because the naive part of her before Akitsuto wants to believe in a perfect family, she wonders whether her family could have ever been like that. Yuria wishes she had a mother like Chanyeol's that could have given her the world and can't stand his privilege and ignorance sometimes.

Character progress + development [bc they should learn things from each other]
Yuria - Before relationship: cold, distrustful, sensitive
After relationship: starts to express herself more, she starts nagging Chanyeol a lot more openly, and b/c the brothers appreciate her for openly criticizing him, she starts getting closer to others and then slowly starts trusting others a lot more. Ice Princess Yuria actually turns out to be sassy af Yuria. Yuria starts smiling and laughing a lot more. She starts feeling more confident and less paranoid as Chanyeol turns out to be the super romantic doting type, but he's still self centered and ignorant so there are times they fight.

Chanyeol - Before relationship: arrogant, narcissistic, childish
After relationship: becomes less ignorant, Yuria's nagging makes him realize his mistakes a lot more, and he also becomes less self centered. Realizing how sensitive Yuria actually is, he starts to worry about her a lot and then that eventually generalizes to caring more about other people, basically he becomes less of a douche and a gentleman, but he doesn't change 180 degrees. Yuria and Chanyeol both improve each other slowly without chaging the other's identity completely.

RELATIONSHIPS —

Half Brother || Byun Baekhyun (24) || Best Friend
Baekhyun is Chanyeol's partner in crime for almost anything. The boy himself is also a little bit too cocky and has the same sense of humor as Chanyeol.
Besides his ego and bragging, the rest of his brothers like Chanyeol fairly well, considering he's the brightest and funniest of them all along with Baekhyun and Chen.

Mother  || Maiden name: Park Taehee || Concubine
Traits: narcissistic, judgmental spoiled, sassy, shallow, calculating, y, two-faced, shallow, biased, bit of a bully, doting (towards people she likes), sees lower class people as trash as well.
As mentioned above, Chanyeol's mother is from an illustrious noble family. The Park family has made their fortune off of trade from India, China and other parts of Asia. Chanyeol's mother spoiled Chanyeol to death while he was growing up and gave him everything he ever wanted. Although she's not queen, Concubine Park's family has enough power and money for her to do almost anything. Chanyeol adores his mother and his mother would do anything for him. The two are really close and can talk about almost anything. His mom will practically shower Chanyeol with praise for just about everything. The two are really close with each other for mother and son.
However, his mom does bullly some of the other concubines because like her son, she likes throwing around her wealth in front of people's faces. A part of the reason why Chanyeol chased after Yuria to begin with was his mom urged him to because she wanted to strength trade relations with Japan.
His mother is really two faced to Yuria. On one hand, she wants Chanyeol to marry her for the power perks, ["Oh, and you would make beautiful babies!" end quote] on the other hand, she doesn't understand why Yuria would ever reject someone as fine as her boy. Chanyeol is the source of her pride and she is the source of his pride.
Chanyeol's mom is kind of a lot like Chanyeol: she was one of the great beauties of all time from Korea. People have been telling her that she was beautiful from the beginning of time, so the narcissism just happened to be passed on.

Page-Divider.pngQUESTIONS/COMMENTS — I am truly sorry for the long app.... LOLOL I can't help it. #detailqueen
7/29 - Everything I added/ edited is bolded( minus the summary and concubine park and Ming Xia)! Lmk when you read it so I can unbold it so it looks less obnoxious. Also I added a brief summary section for Yuria and Chanyeol's relationship so it makes it easier when you're writing so you dont gotta scroll through this long app 100%. It basically highlights what I think interesting tensions in their personalities are and how their characters (preferrably) should progress throughout the story!
SCENE REQUESTS —
I feel like this app is full of scene requests (sorry lol) but here's a few more:
1.) Idk why, but I kinda really want Yuria to slap Chanyeol for some reason. lololol. It would also be cool if Akitsuto appeared in the story again and she slapped him as well hahaha. Maybe Chanyeol slaps her once bc he's a patriarchal idk surprise me lol. Man all the guys in Yuria's life are s. I feel bad for her.
2.) So you know how I said the other guys were interested in Yuria bc she's a princess and whatnot and they pursued her? It would be really cool if she had some sort of riddle she gave them or some sort of impossible mission when they expressed interest in courting her. (bc she liked seeing the Princes fuddle around to try and it was a test to see whether they actually liked her enough to do it bc she's also paranoid af)
3.) Chanyeol formally introducing Yuria to his mother as his fiance and his mother, although she originally dislikes her because Yuria rejected her precious son, assessing Yuria and saying something like "I guess you're good enough for my son." Even though she really inwardly approves. Concubine Park even gives her son a thumbs up when she thinks Yuria isn't looking, but of course, the all knowing Yuria catches that and smiles. The two women end up getting along more than just fine later on. In fact, sometimes Concubine Park even takes Yuria's side over Chanyeol's and he childlishly complains.
4.) Chanyeol writing a song for Yuria to apologize to her after one of their fights.
5.) Chanyeol taking Yuria along with him for one of his business trips outside of the country and the two of them just having fun and being cute :3
6.) Yuria starting to see Chanyeol as attractive that one time she saw him play the ancient version of a guitar. She then questions what was wrong with her later when her heart starts beating faster when she's trying to go to sleep. heh.
OTHERS — I didn't even realize there was a yes/no for the cameo thing on here until I read the review OTL.
