EXO makes history with the highest amount of sales for rookie artists in Japan this year

EXO has made history yet again on Japan's music charts! The popular group has become the very first foreign male artist to hit number one on the rookie sales charts in Japan. EXO just debuted in Japan this year but their popularity has been explosive. They are absolutely slaying!

 

Oricon Style announced, "In the '48th annual ranking for 2015', EXO won the triple crown for new artists. Their revenue was 900 million yen (over $7.4 million U.S.). It's the first time that a foreign male artist has had the highest amount of sales among rookie artist sales for the year."

 

EXO released their debut single "Love Me Right ~ romantic universe ~" in Japan this year, which sold 187,000 copies, and even their Korean 'EXODUS' album sold 60,000 copies in Japan.

 

EXO was aslo number one in the amount of sales revenue from all rookie artists' singles, and number one in album sales for rookie artists.

 

"Love Me Right ~ romantic universe ~" also had the highest first week of sales for all foreign artists' debut singles with 147,000 sales that week.
