Hey guys, so thank you all so much for joining my TFIBB competition, which closed on the 17th of July (yesterday).

I was very touched by the amount of you who participated, it was way more than I thought! However, since I did promise three winners, I can only choose three of them T_T It was so hard to choose, you guys had no idea T_T I appreciated all of them T_T

You all did wonderful job, and you are all winners in my heart~

FIRST PLACE:

• Congratulations, atticusfinch! The entry: 
• "To me, this story isn't just a normal chanbaek story where the main characters get together and fall in love. This story is more than that - it's about the strength in oneself, thus, 'The Faults in Byun Baekhyun', not 'The Faults in Chanbaek'. It might be centered around the pairing baekyeol, and it might be centered mostly through Chanyeol's eyes, but in the end I think it's about Baekhyun's character development. It's about Baekhyun overcoming his trauma and his hatred and his sadness.
  To me, it isn't about Chanyeol saving Baekhyun - it has never been about Chanyeol saving Baekhyun. Chanyeol can act as a pillar of support for Baekhyun, but I think in the end it's Baekhyun saving himself.
  Just like on Valentine's Day where he had haters hurting him physically. I saw in the comments that everyone said told Chanyeol to hurry up and save Baekhyun and beat the crap out of those guys, and they wished Chanyeol would cancel his date with Kyungsoo just to protect Baekhyun. In the end, Baekhyun solved everything by himself. He didn't need anyone to protect him because he was strong enough to protect himself.
• That's when I realised what the author was trying to tell us. In the end, no matter how broken we are, no matter how much we need to be saved, we need to be the ones to save ourselves. Think about it this way - You're stuck in a well, and someone like Chanyeol is above it. Chanyeol can throw a rope down for you, but you're going to be the one who chooses whether to take the rope or not, and whether you want to climb up or not. Chanyeol can't save you by physically jumping down - he can't save anyone doing that, so it has to be you. And that's what I think you're trying to tell us. Through Baekhyun's character, you're trying to tell us that there might be people who will kill themselves to save you, but in the end, only you can save yourself. Only you have the power to save yourself.
  And you always have the power to do so. You just need to see it.
• Not only that, but you also try to tell us that keeping things inside yourself is not good for your heart. It accumulates, it builds up, and in the end you feel like exploding. When you create walls around yourself, you trap yourself and it's so hard for you to escape. So you want us, all of us kids, whether fine or bent or broken and just needs a little fixing up, to remember to give ourselves some space and learn to express ourselves - to lift some burden off our shoulders. Baekhyun distrusts people so much that he keeps things to himself, such that he has turned into someone so broken and depressed (I think he's depressed - just not diagnosed) that he fails to see Chanyeol, Chen and Jongin's love for him, such that there are people so trustworthy around him but he still doesn't see that, and continues to burden himself for no reason. Baekhyun is so perfect yet so flawed, and yet so human because he is the brokenness in all of us that have dared let our own pasts scar us, which is why TFIBB is such a success - because you, authornim, was able to weave all of our flaws together in one person, and yet make him seem so beautiful and desirable, and through that, make us feel desirable. Baekhyun is so relatable to some of us, that we can see clearly what you're trying to tell us. You just want us to open our hearts and be more carefree, be less sad, be less burdened, be less lonely. You want us to see the good of the world as well as the bad, and you want us to know that there will be people who care. And because of this fic, I don't feel alone anymore."
