It's been a while.

MAY 24th

It's been a while but please remain patient!

I wish everyone has been well and all. As some of you know, I have been working on How To Harness The Unicorn lately. I can tell you that its progressed rather well and I can pretty much hope that it will come out somewhere next week if I find the time. After May 29th I'll have my summer vacation so I'll be left with much more freetime, which equals I'll have more the time to focus on writing. Aww... finally I can make all the updates I intended to do. Well, until then, be patient and look forward to it!

As a treat, this small preview contains three separate snippets from How To Harness The Unicorn, Chapter 4 that will most likely receive its full release next week. This chapter is rather long, which is basically why it takes me a while to finish it. Anyway, read if you wish, share your expectations over what's gonna happen, its all up to you.

SNIPPETS OF THE UPCOMING FULL CHAPTER 4.

The kumiho rode at the front, his grey stallion racing first and followed by Lay and several of his men. At their command, people cleared the way for the fox clan lord's entourage as they stormed through the district with utmost haste, trying to reach their destination in time. Even though they went without stops, there was no telling how bad the situation would be upon their arrival. Along the way, they were seeing effects of the outbreak everywhere in the nearby areas as dread was written on the people's faces. An unsettling air had fallen upon the district when news of the conflict spread like wildfire and roused attention. Many had began to pack their stalls and hurry to their homes in fear of what was to come.

Their party continued making their way through, heading towards the tower of black smoke rising not too far away in the district. The closer they got to the source of commotion, streets were quickly becoming more and more restless and signs of fighting became prominent. The trail of wreckage that had been left behind was leading further into the northern block where the line between human and beast population was the most visible.

Screams, shouts and desperate cries sounded off in the air, never ceasing and only turninig louder with each block. Brief gusts of wind carried smoke and a particular stench of iron that struck their senses deeply, causing adrenaline filter into their body and muscles tense as their predatorial instincts were alerted by the scents.

The prominent scents of blood and fear mixing in the air.

--------------------------------

Lay had stood his ground on the sidelines, his cloaked figure standing out from the rest. He was focused on defending the citizens when a sinister shadow crept on him, casting its form over to the ground, and alerting Lay's senses of another presence lingering nearby. With so many noises and scents filling the air and distracting his beast instincts, there was barely no time to retaliate as it basically came out of nowhere. The shadow shifted and not a moment too soon, Lay turned around to see a man, dagger raised in hand, descend upon him from the rooftops.

"Death to beasts!" the man had roared as he landed on Lay, staggering their balance and startling the stallion. The steed reared abruptly, kicking its legs high on the air, causing the pair to fall off the saddle, before the horse struck its hooves to the ground with force and bolted off, neighing frantically as it went.

Yet the assailant was swiftly back on his feet and lounging at Lay again, eyes focused on his target. The fall had broken off their struggle only momentarily when they came down with a crash. In the next second, the man was straddling Lay's body on the ground, cold steel flickering briefly before he brought it down upon the beast's throat. Desperately, Lay fought off the dagger pointed at him while the other vehemently tried to force it down. The male had advantage, using his body weight to push down the dagger, which kept dangerously inching closer till it was scraping the soft skin bellow.

--------------------------------

"This is hopeless," he sighed frustratedly; hoping to gain some peace of mind by closing his eyes for a moment and gather his wandering thoughts to focus. When he then opened his eyes, he thought it strange for the sunlight to be blocked when there had been no clouds today until he glanced up to the sky. A sudden bile rose up his throat and eyes widened at the foreboding sight slowly cast its shadow and spread out over the city. It was no cloud, but dark and ashen as it s its way up and higher into the sky.

The ominous phenomenom had easily grasped the attention of many, eventually having  been noted by the clanmen as they had stopped their work and glanced up on the sky at the blackness spreading there. In itself, it inflicted fear into the hearts of the citizens, human and beasts as all of them knew the meaning behind the sign, the tower of black smoke that was rising from north of the district, the place where the kumiho and his men were at, including Lay.

Suho was frozen still, looking at the ill-natured sign in the distance, an uneasy feeling creeping into his heart, making a shiver travel down his spine. Although it was faint, it was like he could feel that something was wrong - that something had happened. He knew not where this certain feeling originated from, but somehow he just knew it in his heart.

Like something called out to him.
